Anybody broke a handguard bracket yet?

Broke one a couple weeks ago. had my dealer order it (never asked for a price, Mistake). It was on back order for two weeks. Finally comes in, grand total is 69.99. This is for a BRACKET for each side. Not the handguard, not the handlebars, does not even include LUBE!!!

is $70 the end of the world? no. Does it piss me off? yes. That is highway robbery.

FYI if somebody wants them, I'll sell you the entire handguard, both sides, for 100. Quite the deal. Needless to say I won't be buying any more replacements.

I broke one Wednesday and couldn't believe the price for replacements! I will say that I liked them quite a bit, but it's like the last version Poo made, the mounts are made out of reject pot metal at very best! I ordered the ROX flex something or other this morning. Looking forward to them not breaking within the first couple hundred miles!

Broke both first ride. Knew it would happen. I've broke so many hand guards (aftermarket) I don't even buy them anymore

Get bark busters or something that bolts to the bar end as well

You did good.
Usually i see them for sale for $20.
The pro bro stereotype is heavy with handgaurds.

The problem everyone has is that they tighten them up too tight. I only tighten the mount enough that it does not move. I can grab it and move it by hand. Same with the guard, I can move it up and down by hand. This method allows them to both move with a impact and not break. I can go through brush and trees all day long and they will not move, but if they take a big hit they flex and move. Only had to replace 2 guards since 2012 and that is on 2 sleds that run every weekend. If that don't work for you get the skinz fabric ones.

Mine are holding up Awesome! not even a scratch on them...... But then again they are on the shelf in the garage. took them off day 1. hand guards are a joke. Eric

Same, same !!

I roll my sled over way to many times in one day and those things never last!!!! They come off and get thrown in a drawer, I think I have three sets in there now, if anyone is interested........

I had mine mouted very loose and could move them with my hand. Still broke four plastic guards. Total junk. I have never used hand guards till this year. Only use them to keep my hands warmer

Mine lasted all of about a half day. Filed what was left away in the trash can and went to a set of acerbis pro rally series.

broke one yesterday, good lord make then from cnc'ed 7075 aluminium and be done with it, cheap *** casting

We were putting an SKS together, it took some effort to get the brackets to not rotate on the bar. I did right, another tech did the left, I told him he had to reef on the bolts a bit to keep gravity from making the guards drop. Snap. The bracket broke. Quality China sourced Polaris crap.
