ANY ONE upgrade to a paid member yet?????

i still cant see how something that was free to the viewer is now $15 per year?

Maybe if i was advertising a service or selling something, I would feel obligated to pay, afterall my income would depend on it.

If i want to advertise my products, then paying for ads makes sense.
But insisting everyone pay for services regardless of level fo service, is BS!!

How about $3 per year for entry level peeps that just want to view the 4m?
Its funny how the mods are lining up to pay, and people that sell there products here.....it kinda makes sense to me.

I'll make a deal w/ ya. I'll pay if i can have the same rights as the mods, ie...deleting posts, going into private threads w/ out invite, and changing text to suit my needs.

Nope will never pay. Most of the people who really know sleds are no longer here. So why pay for nothing.

You can not say that....there alot of peeps that know a gargantuan amount of sled mechanics..sled engineering..fixing...selling..ridding..and what ever else that one person knows is not to be taken lightly!! Alot of peeps know alot of chit and that chit just may save yours or mine bacon and alot of headaches!

ya think so?...I think at least 1/2 of the really knowledgable guys are gone already..and I think most of those who are staying wont be so free with their knowledge in the future on this site....I am staying because of friends that are here..but most of the tech info i have will be on another site..when snowest decides our knowledge is worth something..then I may bring it back here.............I hope all the other guys do the same as well...

just looked at the viewing members of an ac thread out of 112 members viewing 4 were paid members, should have checked to see how many of those were moderators!!! when this thing starts to restrict my free access i will no loner visit, as will am sure a very high percentage of others. this website will go within a week of being the most popular snowmobiling website to a ghostown!!! was on a very popular atv website, they went pay, within a year the website was no longer there... just take a look at the members who have read this thread list at the end of any thread. imagine if all those free users weren't there, be a pretty lonely place!!!

my .02 here. most other websites have the OPTIONAL premier, vip, doocrew membership. it does not effect a non vip member from what they see or read on the entire site. the other sites set up optional private forums for premier members. they give them swag from the website. enlarge picture posting, mail box size avatar and have special features non paying members dont have ect....

but one thing they dont do is, limit the normal non paying member from seeing the site or threads no matter the length except for the premier/vip area. you have to be a prefered member to get there.

it isnt about the money. it would be nice to be asked, instead of forced. i already have a magazine subscription, why should i as a magazine subscriber pay for both the site, and the mag? why not offer a sign up... buy one, get the other free?

there are supporters for both sides, we have to come to an agreement to work with one another, or we will lose this tight knit community. it would be better to have both sides bend, than both sides stand their ground. there will be no winners in a stand off like that.

i emplore snowest and harris publishing look into this further, before pulling the plug and limiting non paying members site access, especially those that hold a subscription to the magazine. take a look at totallyamaha (both sites 2 and 4 stroke), look at dootalk, hcs ect.... they do not limit their non paying members they offer upgrades, would be nice for you guys to follow suit. you may see you will get more flies with honey, than vinegar.

i know we all think we are right in this but, sooner or later it will come to blows. are you really prepared to lose x amount of people over this? money can still be generated and memberships will continue to sell. just look at the options. please. ski
