Any interest in a custom dog house???

This is just a complete out-of-the-blue thought..But i was just wondering if there would be any interest in custom dog houses. Thought it might be a good way to earn a little extra money for college.

I built one that looks like my parents house for my senior project in high school. The dog house is fully insulated, roofed, sided, trimmed, the whole nine yards. This things weighs a lot! I wish I had some pictures of us lifting it up with the crane and hauling it on the sled deck. (looking back I dont know it that was such a great idea on the old 3/4 ton:rolleyes:) lol. Going back I would of put electrical in it for heat or what not. As soon as I get up to my parents house again I can get some current pictures, as now it is set with rock around it, and it looks alot better than it does on the dollies

Im purely just seeing if they're would be any interest..

I attached some pics, I'll post some more when I get up to my parents next...Let me know what you think

Seems rather excessive for a dog but what the heck. I think the pet industry in the US is over $6 billion a year, you may get a few bites. Too bad the economy is down the crapper so bad.

I just have to commend you for trying to earn money for college....that is very admirable! Keep it up! You aren't one of the entitled ones that think their parents or government should pay for it. Cheers to MarcS!!!!

Thanks! My parents do help me quite a bit and I have some money saved up from fighting fire in the summer, but the bills add up and I dont really have enough for any side spending or putting more into the sled :D..thats where extra money from stuff like this would definately be nice!!

Those things should be a hot item for all the people that are gonna be losing their houses.

And as soon as the dog gets in there all that nice new sheet rock and insulation will be strung out in the yard and it will be stripped down to the studs. LOL

Hey Marc:

I think its a great idea. You should get a small collection of photos together and show them around high end developments near you like the one above the Wandermere Golf Course. I would think that a custom dog house would be a great finish to those classy looking places. Anything to one up the Jonses' should be in demand.

On another angle, the guy that does hand pinstriping on my stuff had a dog house that was a miniature of his '40 Ford. It was cool. Maybe even an open dog bed for the porch with a NASCAR look? Kinda like the car beds you see for kids only smaller. I would do one that looked like a boat down here at the river.

As mentioned above, good on ya for creativity and motivation to improve yourself without Government Stimulus. Don't forget to pay your taxes on all sales for the other guy who is still sitting behind his Nintendo waiting for subsistance. LOL.

Sounds like Salmo or Slocan for Saturday with Mark M, let me know. EW

I agree!! Try Craigslist??

I second that! I built a house for my dog last year and had a number of my neighbors come over and ask where I bought it. After they found out I built it request for me to build them one started to come in.....just buy word of mouth I built 4 in about 2 months, was making between $600-$700 each. I have moved since but once I get settled into my new house I'm gonna need something to keep me busy! Get some pics and info out, you might be surprised!

For those us us who regularly visit the dog house, they should be available with satalite dish, jacuzzi and big screen tv !!
