Tuna trip

Finally found my camera after the Tuna trip in September. Thought I would share them with ya. 60 miles out--rough ride out--but became sweet--just like the fishing!!

Pictures are of Introuble and Tree Tard.

Tuna fishing

Well since there is no snow I guess talking about fishing is fair game. I used to fish a lot for salmon but not so much anymore since I discovered tuna fishing. Salmon fishing is still fun but to compare tuna and salmon fishing in snowmobile terms, salmon fishing would be like riding a groomed trail on a 50 hp sled and tuna fishing would be like climbing up a steep hill in deep powder on a turbo sled.

It's more expensive and requires more boat and more commitment but when you get into the fish, it is an absolute blast. There is no limit other than how many you can hold and you can use as many rods as you like. On a hot bite, it is not uncommon for everyone on board to be fighting a fish. And tuna are strong and fast swimmers. They pull much harder than salmon. Of course it's fishing and you don't always slay them but when you do, here's what the boat looks like:

This box is plugged with about 20 tuna in the 15-25 pound range:

Tuna Fishing

zman---is this what you go by on bloodydeck.com?? I am on Bloodydecks by my boat name--Genie Aye. Will have to hook up this coming season on a run out for tuna--2 boats work better than one--know what I mean.

Nice pictures--now ya all know why they call it "Bloodydecks".

H20SKE,

I go by ZZZ on bloodydecks. Somebody had already taken zMan. I'm always willing to share information on tuna fishing and bloody decks is the best place for this exchange. The avid tuna fishers are always watching the conditions and weather and when we get a good window, there's usually several boats headed out, especially if it falls on a weekend. It's always nice to know that there will at least be somebody within radio range if you get into trouble. Post on bloody decks or PM me when you're thinking about heading out and we'll see what works out.
