Another updated clutch bolt for the 9r / Boost Service Bulletin S-24-04

polaris always claims they have hundreds of hours and thousands of miles of testing on their components but, they obviously do not lol.
when i was at the dealership and called in with a repeat issue it was always the same response. "first we have heard of it". never admit fault!!

I had my sled in for some warranty work, called for this clutch bolt update while it was there. They told me two weeks minimum to get the part in, called me yesterday (3 days later) and said it's ready to go, part came in wayyyy sooner than expected.

I ordered an extra bolt just in case, and the install bolt so I should be ready to go.

On my 23 I received a new spider and 2 clutch bolts. The black bolt is used to torque to a higher setting then removed. The other bolt was then installed and torqued to a lower setting.
the black bolt (upgraded) to put the P22 on with is a grade 12....at 150 lbs torque...then remove and install the new bolt which is a grade 8 hardness, at like 125 ft lbs...We send lapping coumpound out with every P22 we balance...lapping the clutch to the crank does help...I have been saying they need to be 150 ft lbs 3 years ago...I asked Polaris why we could not leave the grade 12 bolt it? ..they say it will break and never get the broken shaft out of the crank..I question why would it break? what is causing the bolts to break?? it is because the clutch loosens itself up and all holding it on is the bolt, not the tapper!!! A Good clutch fit to crank you should be able to take the bolt out and still be able to run it!!!!
