Another stimulus check!

The National debt is over $83,000 per citizen.
I know what you're thinking... That is not sustainable
Hold on, I said that was per citizen. Not every citizen is a productive tax paying citizen, so let's break it down to actual taxpayers....
The National debt is over $220,000 per tax paying citizen.

We are so f___ed.

Just trying to figure out how much dumber you can get. I didn't need to ask. I already knew. Just love it when stupid people say it out loud.

Lol you really are a stubborn idiot. Go back to your hole. You have never won an argument here with me or anyone else. You are worse than minor league. Like a peewee child.

Fair point, let's assume that was a waste for this conversation's sake.
Two wrongs do not make a right.
Are both wrong? What is the expense value at which it becomes wrong? With a government our size they are spending billions and billions just to operate. Is that wrong?

I agree
At some point, one way or the other, the Piper has to be paid.
And I fear the price will be unbearable when the bill finally comes due in full.
We don't have kids, but that doesn't prevent me from feeling guilty as hell about the way we are throwing away the future that rightfully belongs to future generations.

I did and I understand it. Is it a meaningful metric? Is the government doing anything about it? They didn't in the past 4 years. They gave themselves a tax break. We have brought this up before in our Trump conversations.

Bigger picture question...

If every 1st world country is pumping money into the economy through stimulus like this then why wouldn't we? If their debt grows just like ours then they lose value just like we do. Does it in a sense even out? Also, should we raise our taxes to pay for this stimulus? Why not and if so what is the alternative?

Don't expect to win an argument with you. You can't fix stupid. I have won because you come back with spelling issues which means you have nothing, which i already knew.
Now you want to raise taxes. Explain how that helps anything. Just more money to waste on your hokey projects. Not one ounce will be used to pay any debt. We will always be broke because it's too easy to spend other people's money. If you take people's money it should be spent or you shouldn't take it. Problem is it is never enough for people like you.

Yelling isn't a discussion. Try to explain why what you think your idea is appropriate and a good fiscal plan. First you need an idea not just an opinion why the current plan is bad.

Not spending isn't an option. The bill already passed.

So raising taxes is wrong? How else do you pay for the bill? Continue the debt? The other posters here said that is wrong. How then do you get the $$?

Every administration is guilty. Current one, past ones, red ones, blue ones.
Kicking the can down the road has become normal operation.

Inflation

Your argument is..."My neighbor just bought a new truck and financed all $50,000 of it. We better do it too"
When you see it simplified like that, can you see how absurd it is?
Also, should we raise our taxes to pay for this stimulus?
Only after wasteful spending has been eliminated.
If we eliminated wasteful spending, most people would not view taxes in such a negative light.
Why not and if so what is the alternative?
When we have...
Politicians flying around in private jets,
Billions spent in other countries that nobody can even identify, much less justify,
Government monies used for projects like counting fish or studying the raccoon defecation habits,
Bloated government agencies with disregard for accountability.

I think you get my point.

What you do is quit spending money you don't have. You get people back to work. Can't keep people locked up and buy your way out of this.
Balanced budget. If you need more you cut it out of something else. You get donatons from people for your pet projects. You quit giving all this money to foreign countries when Americans are in need. Yes, you spend the money. You don't take people's money if you don't need. The question is what is the need. You make states responsible for their own poor decisions. Just like a business, you don't bail them out. You vote them out. you deal with the mess you voted in. You don't get more money unless taken care of in a timely fashion in a crisis. Just like a bank or real world situations. Welcome to the real world. Not your fantasy world filled with unicorns and the tooth fairy.

See? He gets it!!!

So you both want accountability I'm gathering.

What is wrong with the current system of accounting? Is it that you aren't aware of how the money is spent? Even at the smallest government offices the data is public. Do you check it and go to town meetings to discuss? Do you think the federal government could do a better job on accountability? What would you improve? It is all public data now but it is volumes of data. Do you want that data summarized or full line items?

Government wasteful spending is a perception not a fact. It always comes down to an opinion that something isn't fair to you or your interests.

The point being that massive money is spent by the federal government and not every plan is going to go to the public for their vote. Do you not reach out to your government representatives to make suggestions? If not, then why?

Agreed on inflation. That concerns me greatly. We could spin that into a whole topic.

TT, read the bill or the summary. you still keep mixing up the relief bill with the omnibus spending bill. trump vetoed that bill and approved the stimulus bill. I keep feeding you facts and you say it is a fantasy. Do you understand how the federal and local government systems work together? Do you understand how the federal government is a bank? I really think you struggle with scale. Not everything works like a small business.

There in lies the problem, the volume of spending. The government tentacles reach too far into every little thing. A beast so big that the common perception is that it cannot be reeled in.

Pretty sure that we can be in 99.9999% agreement that our government indeed wastes money. Those that disagree on this aren't worth arguing with. At times I think you fall into that group, but I know that you're arguing just to argue.
It always comes down to an opinion that something isn't fair to you or your interests.
Another root problem. One politician will vote for another politician's pork if that favor is repaid, and the snowball begins.

Government wasteful spending is a fact. My wife works for the government. I've seen it. People don't know how to do their jobs. People get promoted to get them out of there. Little oversight. Government is not the answer for everything. Everything needs cut until budget is in check and debt is paid. We are going down a unrecoverable road. Don't know where the line is but i bet we're close. I guess the line is when interest is more than we take in.
The relief bill and spend bill are the same to me. All adds up to the samething. Money we don't have.
