Another 08 and Earlier Front Bumper Option Coming Soon!

Hey Outlaw, was good of you to come on here and retract your earlier statements about Vinnee's bumper! So Vinnee what is the deal on the plastic covers will you be selling them? Will they fit with the Skinz bumper?

Well... I need to eat some crow here... the bumpers are completely different except for what you see on the outside. I applaud Vinnee for comign up with a nice bumper ON HIS OWN. Hopefully he will sell them now, becasue I have a couple buddy's wanting bumpers.

Vinnee, sorry for the attack, I will go back into time out now.. :(

Outlaw, Sorry to leave you hanging! My day started at 4:00am and it's just now winding down:eek:

Appreciate your account and totally understand your concerns.

Be reashured ALL IS GOOD!!:beer;

I got a kick out of the crow thing! Believe me, over the years I have become so familiar with the taste of crow that I started my own recipe book of different ways to prepare it:p

I sent you a PM on the plastics.

Take Care.

Well I got my bumper installed last night. It went pretty good. The biggest thing was that I had about a 1/2 gap on the right side between the plastic filler piece and the hood, but no gap on the left side. I tried adjusting it but never could eliminate the gap. I ended up bending the little tab on the bumper to help eliminate the gap and I also trimmed a little plastic out of the inside of the edge of the hood and it sat real nice then. One easy way to cut the notches out of the back plastic panel was to use a carbide bit. It looks a hundred times better than the stock bumper. Thanks paul and skinz.

Very cool! Thanks for the pictures!

Thanks for the props :o

Trenchmaster, you can probably take your off and put a bolt where yours needs to bend in a vice, heat it up from the back side and bend it to where you need it to go. Use a bolt so it's not a 90* turn but more of a rounded turn.

My plates are a 1/2" longer because I made the part that goes around the bumper a 1/2" deeper to give it more of a finished look. Mine are also 3/4" wider to get a good wrap around the side of the sled. I also used a dremmel drill on the back side of the plates around the front (where it meets the bumper) to make the plastic thinner.

All in all I'm happy with it and I'm a very picky person. ;)

Nice job Top.

I have my bumper installed but did not finish the trim pieces because I really don't like how they fit either. I'm going to try a vent-like (pet screen) solution. Something that you can form to the bends.

Nice work Top! Looks incredible. It pays to be picky. I'm a little that way myself. :rolleyes: OK, most people tell me I'm obsessive, but hey we like our stuff to last and look good. Plus it's not to likely we're broken down on the trail.

Top, I wish I would have seen your pictures before I put the covers on my own sled. I just used a propane torch to heat up the covers and bend them to fit on my wifes sled and they look much better. Think I will take the ones off of my sled and re-do them.

Any word on when the 05/06/0? bumpers will be back in stock?

I checked the website but couldn't order one the other day.

Okay, I have a quiz now;

What can a guy do with the open ends? I really don't want to cut the ends straight but I would also like an end that looks finished, or a plug in it like an end of a handlebar. Skinz sent out some ends but you have to cut the ends square for them to fit. I like the 45* angle better...

Anyone?:confused:
