what!! alaska got their bumpers before we got ours in iowa! i know they probably have snow, but shipping times should be less to the mid-west.

I am in the process of straightening things out with Skinz. The first round went out as drop ships but the orders kept coming and I couldn't burden them with MORE drops ships. I have many of your orders coming here which I will ship out ASAP.

AK and Canadian orders DID ship as promised. Shipping was double than originally thought and we have asked for customers to contact us regarding this issue.

I finally got mine yesterday. If that damn UPS driver would have brought one more package for my wife and not me I was going to hurt one of them.

Dropped it off for powder coating today. Will post pictures when I get it back.

Don't you hate when you are waiting for something and the UPS driver shows up with a different package or is running 3 hours late.

Got the bumper today and started the install, I have one question though. You when install the bracket to the lower suspension mount do you remove the existing factory bracket that goes between the two mounts? The factory bracket is bolted to each side and has two rivets in the middle. The rivets look like steel to me and the kit doesn't show any rivets in the pictures or have any replacement steel rivets.

Yes, you do replace that lower steel bracket by unbolting and then drilling out those two rivets. There should have been two replacement rivets provided but it might be tricky to get the rivets back in there. The bottom one is nearly impossible.

Order Update:

Well I guess I shot myself in the foot by posting up that ALL bumpers shipped to Canada and AK. Let me explain.

The original orders (names listed) shipped right from Skinz. The orders kept coming and I couldn't bog them down with all those drop ships so I had all the bumpers after the first round shipped to me. Those should be here next week and we will ship them out ASAP.

Sorry, I never did get a pic of that.

What I did was trace the location of the bumper being held in place on the bulk head, the trimmed 1/8" larger off of the plastic panel. Also they don't tell you in the instructions to carry the cut around the bend in the panel and take the cut down the thickness of the tube. The tube sits very close to the panel.

For the lower part, I started mimicing the pictures provided in the instructions, but went wider than shown in the instructions as to get a wrench in to tighten the mouns easier.

Also, to get the alum. panel to fit snugly over the pumper you will need to form the panel around the tube. I used a piece of scrap alum. between the panel and pumper, then a small dead blow hammer to form it.

TreeDog makes a very nice bumper for the 08's and earlier (not sure if he does an 09)
Someone else has one can't remember who.

Skinz is stronger than stock adds a bit more protection and more affordable.
