Annual Copper Creek Bowls Ride and BBQ 2010 Part 1

Scott will pick up the slack and let ya use the gurls sled Hayden, ok? lol!
your always bailin out on us lately, whats with ya?:face-icon-small-sho

sounds good ha ha. and this is the first time ive bailed...and i have a good excuse....i dont have a sled....kind of a bitter sweet deal :(

Made it into the bowls today. Plenty of snow up there. Unloaded at Cotter Creek about 2 miles from the gas station. Had to drive on hard packed snow from Landers Fork Bridge to a little ways past the 11a trail. Then it turns to dirt. all the way to Snowbank Lake. We could have unloaded at snowbank and rode the sleds all the way on the side of the road and been okay but we drove until the snow got too deep.

It's definately not late March conditions...BUT it looks better than I thought it would.

Hayden, what are you going to turbo?

the plan is to do a budget build. im gunna track down a effed up dragon 7 or 800 fix it and then put a little boost to it. im lookin for one with a couple of bent a arms and some busted plastic and maby a tweeked tunnel. if i cant find one im going to buy a good used one and save up some pennies and turbo it next year

So what's the detailed road report for copper creek?

Can you drive all the way to Snowbank Lake unload and then ride snow all the way to the bowls????

Can you drive past Snowbank Lake to the drifts unload and then ride snow all the way???

Can you drive past the drifts all the way to the T in the road unload and then ride snow all the way???

Details in the way of road conditions, landmarks for unloading and estimated distance of having to ride dirt are tremendously appreciated.

like rmk said you could of parked at snowbank campground and had snow on the edge the whole ways up til it was too deep for them to drive on.
sounds like some weather pattern changes for the next week or two to come...

we did drive all the way to cotter creek. in the middle of the road it is snow and some is dry. there is snow along the side all the way from snowbank on saturday. when we unloaded at cotter creek it was good snow all the way into the bowls no dry spots. took pics of where we unloaded and you can see the snow on the side of the road. the other pic of the truck in trailer is at trail 11a. we drove on hardpacked snow for awhile then got the 4wheeler out and went looked ahead.

I see there is 15" of new at HooDoo in the last 24 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT is going to be a dangerous MO FO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That already was a dangerous MO FO Scott. Did you not hear about the 29 yr old St Maries man that died up HooDoo on Sat? Or at least near HooDoo.

We got snow in Helena this morning, as low as about 4500 so I am sure Lincoln got snow. And we are only due for more. Bring it on, bring it on. :face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-hap

What concerns me is the hard pack from Landers Fork bridge (just past the parking lot) to before Snowbank. If this becomes impassable by vehicle, then we could be having to ride dirt. They groomed this year :face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap so I knew the drifts would not be a problem. Pretty gutsy to make it back to Cotter on hard pack with an enclosed. I cannot believe it is March still. Bowls look very winded. This week should help a lot.

BBQ - we are good on plastic-ware. Need plates. I am bringing the beans, BBQ, and turkey frier. The beans take a lot of time and I am not taking up the slack on the salsa, Spud. If Ty cannot make it, then you can make it. But Teresa's salsa is still my first choice. :face-icon-small-win

We need burgers and buns, who is up for bringing the burgers? Or willing to donate to the burger fund. At this point, I know there are about 20 people coming that do not get on here regularly so I am thinking the count is around 40 right now. We had over 80 people last year.

Where is Faz (Dr Phil)?

well it looks like a new weather pattern for the next 2-4 weeks, YiPeee!!!!
20" new @HooDoo, 12" new @Copper, and even more down south with MORE forecasted! snowpack should increase rapidly over the next few weeks hopefully...

I can get good angus burger here for a good price-less than $2Lb and its already patty'd too so think about that Pam instead of cosco for the same price. I am in anyways with a donation of angus or $$$ ok. also we will figure the salsa out whe the time comes, and I guess we are bringing baked beans also so don't OVERLOAD it ok Pam. lol!

haven't seen Scotts light on during class as much, kids must be keeping the teacher busy? :face-icon-small-win

pop,plates,and salsa & chips

I'll bring the paper plates and pop. an other condiments we need. About how many. Plus I'm pretty sure Ty & Theresa are going and she said she would make the salsa. I'll also bring the chips.

Crap, that is right, we need Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo too. Thanx Cop-Out.

Spud's crystal ball prediction could actually come true if we keep getting hit like they say. I say bring it on. More snow please.
