Annual Copper Creek Bowls Ride and BBQ 2010 Part 1

Too hot.................

Unless it is 80 and you are riding in 1.5 ft of pow that fell the night before. Ahhhhh, Revy in June. Although, we have ridden at the bowls in 80 degree weather before.

So if it doesn't snow, where do you park? I haven't ridden up there in a couple years and the last time I rode I just parked in the Copper Creek lot and rode down the road to get to the Burned out forest heading up to the bowls. I guess my question is, if the snow is gone off the road, its the road good enough to get a 28ft enclosed in and out?

Oh, the monsterous enclosed trailer dilema............

If we make it to Snowbank, we can turn around there. Past Snowbank, there are occasional roads that can be used to turn around. If we make it to the past the bridge, we can turn around there. Otherwise, there are several places to jack-knife it and hang it out over the edge, unhook, turn around, get past, and hook it back up.

We have a 28 foot enclosed as well and have done all the options. RDR99 is really good at backing the trailer up. :face-icon-small-con (2.5 miles up Teepee Creek once)

How well can you backup your trailer?

You can get your truck to Snowbank Lake...past that and it's a lot of work.

Pretty good, I'm sure that I could get it back out. How's the road going in with the run-off? I guess I'm more concerned about getting the whole show stuck more than getting the trailer back out. Maybe I'll just start shopping for a sled deck.:face-icon-small-con

now now foolish ones...
I look into my crystal ball and see a 90" snotel and snow up to our pits!:face-icon-small-win

wishful thinkin I know but......
we did have sheetloads of fog during Dec & Jan so hopefully or its gonna be a hell of a fire season like 2000.:face-icon-small-sho

Do we really want more burn up there? Keep the trees down low so the snowpack stays longer.

Bighoe, I doubt you would get the whole thing stuck and if you did, there will be plenty of rigs that can get you out. I will try to get up there a day or so before hand to check it out. Mark the nearest turn around, etc...

Hopefully more snow is on the way. Maybe we will get that big May/June dump the beginning of April. March is suppose to be the snowiest month, we will see. We are experiencing May weather right now. I am not ready for the season to be over. Hell, poor Doug has not even ridden this year and now it looks like he is not going to get much in. LOL

anybody been to the bowls recently. May have to go there this weekend too see how much snow is up there.

By Rebel do you mean a Cave In Wuss. :)

I have a feeling this winter is going to end shorter then normal and April will be a little slim up there.

Ya, I am thinking we are going to end up about 6 weeks early. That so sucks. April 10 ride may be comparable to Memorial Day. Suppose to get some snow tomorrow.

You look at your sled yet?

I may have caved in and bought my membership, but at least I am not giving up on the year already.

RIP SnowSnob 2/28/2010 Last ride, towed out, baby due in May. Your done dude, see ya on the hill in 3 to 5 years.

You can ride my mod for the 4/10 ride though.

I haven't had time to even look at it yet. I might be able to get her back up and going as long as I didn't hurt the cylinder walls.
You know as soon as I call it quites for the year and put the sled away we'll get dumped on.

3-5 years!!! i was hoping you would babysit for us. :)

Lets get some numbers

We are less than 3 weeks away. We need to get some numbers on who is coming and who is bringing what.

I will bring a BBQ, turkey fryer, Beans, and probably half the plates and silverware.

We need burgers, buns, chips, Ty's incredible salsa, Spud's spuds, more plates, salads, desserts, etc....
