Amsoil Dominator Oil in M Series?

My local dealer fired their mechanic, who was awesome. Now, I don't want anything to do with them. I can get amsoil around here for 37 bucks plus tax. I have heard interceptor isn't good, but dominator is good stuff. Any good or bad stories about using amsoil dominator in a stock m8?

i have heard bad things about all kinds of oil but I have yet to see oil brand as the reason that any sled takes a crap, I just run what ever is the cheapest.

I use the dominator and have been happy with it. It is a little messier on powervalves, but seems to be a good oil.

I've been running dominator for about 10 years. Always had good luck in all my sleds. Last four years have been on an 06 M7 and 09 M8 with good success.

I've ran Amsoil Dominator in all my sleds since '05 and in my CR500 since '00 and no issues with any of them. Great stuff.

there is nothing wrong with intercepter I have had good results and a lot of other guys on here run it too

I've always heard Interceptor is the preferred oil unless you are racing.

DOMINATOR® Synthetic 2-Cycle Racing Oil (TDR)
DOMINATOR®, an AMSOIL exclusive formulation, lubricates and protects high-performance two-cycle motors, both on and off the track. High-performance motors, particularly those that are modified, operate hotter and at higher RPM than recreational motors, and they need good oil for peak performance. DOMINATOR is engineered for racing. It has the right film strength and clean-burning properties for “on the edge” operation.

* Not suitable for long-term use in outboard motors as a TC-W3 type oil, although excellent as a race oil for short-term use where motors are periodically inspected.

You our correct I only put it in when the motor is full mod, happy button or on sleds with turbo's. but if you like the added protection run it in your stock sled plus chain saw, weed wackes or any small 2 stroke motor ( still at 50/1)
:first:

i have been running interceptor for years. powervalves next to clean after whole season of riding. no problems hear

I have ran Amsoil Interceptor in 2005 M7 and 2009 M8 since they came out wth it. They recommend Dominator for modded sleds but either one will work fine in stock. Price is only couple bucks difference so take your choice.

X2 on intercepter. Been running it quite some time and no issues. I can also get in from a coworker for $31 gallon delivered to my desk.

Been running Amsoil Interceptor for 10 years, good product.
Paid 106.60 for a 4 gallon case last January

Run the cheap stuff for a tank and then Ams. You will feel the difference. I did if over a weekend last year and was amazed.

This Amsoil statement on the Dominator oil is what concerns me.

I heard that to!!! and was told its because the dominator RACE oil has minimal corosion inhibitors,,But you should go on the Amsoil web sit to be shure!! been using interceptor in all my sleds my PWC's and My KTM race bikes, never had an engine failure to oil!

look into oil that is used in race engines and u'll find oils u never heard of....not recommended for street use, not available at your local parts store either....doesnt mean its not good oil just has a more specific application. just sayin.

and i had been runnin dominator oil for a few years never a problem. but i switched to interceptor now just to save a few bucks that made little sense to spend
