America under Obama

Nice Jonnyk, so could you point us to some statistics that show how the evil America is plotting against the black man, by putting him in prison.

Just asking, cause maybe you look at the root cause of the incarceration rates.

Blacks are 6 times more likely to be killed than whites.

Blacks are 7 times more likely to be incarcerated for muder than whites.

Blacks are killed by other blacks 94% of the time.

Whites are killed by other whites 86% of the time.

Do you see a trend here? Now we can argue why blacks are put into this position. But, believe me, there's something more going on here than just a bunch of whites trying to keep the blacks down. With the explosion of Mexicans within the USA, whites have actually been getting along with black folk quite well.

You can blame the US federal government for New Orleans, or you could recognize that the way our system is organized, it's the state governors responsibility to call the president and request help. She kinda forgot to do that. And, I never believed New Orleans was a black problem, it's more that most Americans have little sympathy for idiots that live below sea level.

It is a shame most people forget about that point. But it is easier to blame the Federal Govt than your own local government it would seem. The big bad feds did it again...

I will exercise my dual citizenship that I usually deny I have, just to place my vote!

I never said America was plotting against the black man at all. But we all now how poorly they were treated and maybe if you take your sunglasses and visors off you can still see they aren't treated as equals.

As for the comment that the NO governor should have called for help, I dunno even me living way up here knew they needed help, not like this was some little tribe of natives living off the grid.

Anyhow, everyone has different opinions and are entitled to them. We all know either one as a leader won't make a huge difference and all you can really do is pray for that one day me and my brothers leave our igloos, gather up the bears, moose, ducks, ducks, and beavers and come help you defeat your government and bring you a better life!

Yep it sure looks like English to me?

And yes my Grandparents were too lazy to speak 2 languages, you know Czech and English, well not really lazy but they were very proud to be Americans and they wanted to be Americans and speak the language the their fellow Americans were speaking. Now perdro and juan do not really want to be Americans, and they are too lazy to learn english.

My grandparents said they fought for the North during the civil war. I asked why. They said, being scotch-Irish, we knew exactly how black people felt. We were treated worse than them. Sorry dude, but I grew up with a lot of Black friends in intercity schools, I know how "good" black people feel about the subject, had this conversation a million times.

Next time New Orleans floods, we will follow the emergency management plan of Burma. Don't hear to many people complaining about that. Oh wait, how many died there? Maybe not.

Back to your statement about Americans getting upset when dealing with foreign languages. Maybe that has something to do with the belief (in the USA) that all French Canucks can speak English, but the second an American asks a question, they all act like they can't speak English. May be true, may be legend, don't know. Never had any desire to visit that part of Canada.

Actually, you can blame either the enviromentalist of the local governments for the mess with Katrina.

3 different times the core of engineers went to New Orleans to upgrade the dikes, dams and levies to withstand a cat 4 hurricane. All 3 times the Sierra club with local clubs sued and stopped them. They wanted to save some little patch of mud or something.

During the same time tens of millions of dollars were given to the local governments to maintain and do minor upgrades to the dams, dikes and levies. What did they do with the money?? Upgrade the gambling river boat docks and spent the money on promoting the town.

As for why more people didn't rush down to help the locals?? I think it had something to do with all the looting and the fact everytime the rescuers went to render aid, they were attacked both physically and with fire arms. The locals were all a bunch of ungratefull, whiny twits that were more interested in getting free money than making their lives better.

Now, back to Obama................

I think Obama will get assassinated if he wins the election. Not being racist. The colleges are making us take two years of foreign language to even have the chance to apply. Its bull. This is America and we speak English. We are a Super Power. Why should we be bilingual? Immigrants should learn our language. We should not be forced to learn theirs. I say we take away all the aid we are giving to foreign countries and build a decent border and pay of some debts. They hate us anyway so why should we give them money?

well said, but in 2012 monkey boy ( bush ) already signed it and it went through that we will be the NAU ( north american union) and will have no borders between canada or mexico im thinking about moving to switzerland any one wanna join in?

heres some incentives to move

A) its remote

B) theres an assload of snow

C) the chicks are hot.

and yes for me it IS in that order :D

That is not exactly true.
National Review Online that chastised the Sierra Club and other environmental groups for suing to halt the corps' 1996 plan to raise and fortify 303 miles of Mississippi River levees in Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas.

The corps settled the litigation in 1997, agreeing to hold off on some work until an environmental impact could be completed. The National Review article concluded: "Whether this delay directly affected the levees that broke in New Orleans is difficult to ascertain

Seems like that is a problem but then we know this:

The levees that broke causing New Orleans to flood weren't Mississippi River levees. They were levees that protected the city from Lake Pontchartrain levees on the other side of the city. When Katrina struck, the hurricane pushed tons of water from the Gulf of Mexico into Lake Pontchartrain, which borders the city to the north. Corps officials say the water from the lake cleared the levees by 3 feet. It was those floodwaters, they say, that caused the levees to degrade until they ruptured, causing 80 percent of New Orleans to flood.

Much of the problem in New Orleans was that many of the people that lived there were so poor that they had no means of leaving. They were essentially stranded, many of them not having any form of transportation other than walking or public transit.

Yes it is easy for you and me to drive away and get out, but if you have to walk, what would you do? Risk walking or stay put and hope your home holds up.

Not being "able" to leave is a problem, but having spent some time down there, I also know that a lot of hurricanes warnings were issued year after year, and people got complacent.

if i had to walk I WOULD! if it meant my life i would run like a mofo i dont care if i was pulling a mule and on the toilet taking a chitt i would wipe my azz, and RUN! its the dumbasses own fault

A) there living any where from 5-25 feet BELOW sea level.

and

B) they thought " oh the government will save us they provide us with free food for sitting on our azz's lets just do that now.

The only problem of this statement was one of organization. Have any of you seen the pictures of the hundreds of school buses flooded from Katrina and the Lake? There was ample means of evacuating anyone willing to leave. The simple fact is they did NOTHING. This is poor leadership at the local level. NOT at the Federal Government. Then to have the gall to blame FEMA and the White House is completely rediculious. Proper planning is essential in any disaster and NO and for that matter Louisanna did nothing or at the very most little to attempt to get their residents out. Those flooded school busses could have done a hellova lot of evacuation for the residents of NO if only someone with competency and foresight had been in charge of New Orleans.

There are state's rights issues in dealing with the Federal Government. Had Bush and FEMA stepped in before being asked. The same Dumbazzes that were and are mad that help took so long would have been yammering about how the Federal Govt barged in and took over. This was a no win situation for Bush due to the stupidity of Ray Nagin and the governor of LA. A few years before Katrina, they ran Huricane drills and failed in all the ways that they failed during the actual disaster.

Hindsight is 20/20

Walking was not a real option. Pick a major city and you start walking across the town and see how far you get. Then when that big as$ storm moves in you are caught outside, instead of inside your home.

Their friends don't have cars either. I am not saying this is the case for all in New Orleans, but a VERY large majority. There is a lot of poverty there.

b. You say that as if these people made the choice to stay. Lets see.... I think I will risk my life riding out one of the largest storms to hit the U.S. so that I can sit here and do nothing...
Come on, who are you kidding?

XCR....

I never blamed FEMA, although are not blame-free here. There were a ton of problems and yes it did start at the local level. Once again hindsight is 20/20.

My point has already been made. I was simply saying that as much as I hate the Sierra Club, they are not to blame for the Katrina mess, the levees they stopped from being worked on did not fail.
