Alright, So who will be the first to have a boosted 400lb sled?

Pfffffft. Its so easy, my sleds have been under 400lbs for years. I just cut the tunnel off after the seat/rails. Saves about 20 pounds, and it looks way cooler! The heat ex changers stay and look kinda funny but it works. This setup isn't for panzies though, without the tunnel your back gets pelted with a little snow, but us hardcore mountain riders that only ride pow don't mind cuz we never really ride trails or anywhere with hard snow.

yes im kidding

If you run an Aerocharger turbo... no extra oil tank or fluid weight from that oil.

Depends on that system.

I'd like to see an option from Boondockers that offered an Aerocharger turbo choice in the kit... they would not have to add the complexity or fab costs of the oil tank/pump/oil to the cost of the system... this would offset the cost difference of the Garret compared to the Aero. I would not have to worry about the weight of the oil support, the possibility of an oil system failure (which as been minimal at best with boondocker kits) ... and a super clean install with more flexible mount and clean air inlet options.

HMMM...
A 10 lb boosted, tunnel dumped, EBC controlled, Aerocharger equipped, torque builder intake equipped Boondocker turbo system... HOME RUN for me!

sound like you want a HM kit to me.... :face-icon-small-win

I can smell what your cooking... sounds fantastic. I didnt say it wasnt possible, just a tall order for most peeps. A $35,000 machine for most people just isnt practical. A permagrin for every one, but not practical. I think a realistic easy to obtain number would be in the 415-420 range. Which a boosted 420lb that runs consistently(sorry, there is a 1000 threads with pro turbo issues right now) sled would be like going home to Megan Fox naked everynight...

I have a solution on how to get to 400lbs.. with a turbo... I think MH you would enjoy the heck out of it, but most peeps would turn their nose at it...

i have never left the truck with no gas and oil in the tanks, so that means with extra fuel the pro will need and oil you will be touching on 500 lbs, no big gain there

Talking dry weights obviously....

just had it on the scale this am, with all tanks full(100km day in the deep) with a full bottle of ntrous and a 3 inch track it came in at 524lbs, how would that compare to the 13 poo ready to ride, thanks

Sorry guys, you're a couple years to late. C3 powersports built a sub 400 lb turbo sled for one of my buddys 3 years ago. Full carbon xp chassis, belt drive, aerocharger turbo on a 800 cat stove. With titanium bolts it could be lighter yet. check it out on the c3 site under project sleds.

Yea... that C3 sled is sweet... But this one can be done with a stock chassis assy which will save a few shekels.

Does it involve carbs??:face-icon-small-win

how did you guess... drop a straight out flat nasty set up for straight race gas small block 600 with a Aero.. in it.... grip it and rip it... it would be a ball.

I dont know what the weight difference between a 6 and 8 is.. you could do the same thing with a 8, but trying to shave as much weight as possible.

Like I said.. most people would turn their nose up at it... but Megan Fox and I would be in a Vaseline factory... it would be so much fun..

as long as we are talking exotic here, i have wondered how much weight you can save by going with full ceramic bearings inside and out, yet to hear of it in the sledding world but they are way lighter than stainless.

Lets just put an aerocharger on the poo.
