AirPlane on a Teardmill and Mythbusters

It flew but that's because they did it wrong.....NOT!!!!

What do you want to bet that all those brain trusts that said it wouldn't fly are going to find fault in what the myth busters did?
 
You have to remember he isn't a real pilot. He flys those ultralight toy planes! :face-icon-small-win

I'm wondering how many people on here that said it wouldn't fly are engineers or engineering students.
I want to make sure they don't come to work where I work:face-icon-small-ton
 
I was Wrong!!!!!!

While waiting for the show to come on i fugured out wear i was wrong. I realized that there is no way that the wheels could cause enuf drag to stop it from going forward. You would need a much longer runway i think but I WILL fly.......:o:o:o:o

Hell I had to tape it since I was so tired I couldn't stay awake. No point in watching it now though since you fuggers wrecked the ending!

The test they designed only had the treadmill match the takeoff speed of the plane, when they should have matched the speed of the plane's wheels at the takeoff speed. Thats what the true problem was. It needs to be redone to have the treadmill adjust its speed to the speed of the wheels.

Yeah, what an idiot. If the wheels are on the conveyor, the speeds are already matched.
