OK guys hope this doesnt come across as tacky. Some people like stockers, some people like to boondock climb jump pose etc..... Its all fun and sledding is just a great sport altogether. Me, real simple, I like HP. Im sure some of the tards on the forum will jump in here with there banter but I dont care. I gotta thank some of the peeps that helped me get my beast back together cause it was a big deal.

A little history on the TReX. You dont have to read if you dont want to.
2 years ago almost to the day the trex had a nitrous backfire which took out a rod, piston and motor. Right after going undefeated at the fairview shootout in 07 I was trying to start the sled to ride back to the truck and the battery was dead (garbage Batcap battery.) Trying to save power for a jump start I disconnected what I thought was the hand warmers but turned out to be my nitrous switch. BOOM!
That summer I sent the block to Simons CPR where it sat for over a year on the shelf. Jeff was very cool about it and didnt lose any of my parts! About a month ago I called Jeff and told him I was finally getting around to putting my racer back together. He busted it out and got me the motor right away so we could begin reconstruct. The motor work was perfect, thats all, it just looks bulletproof!
After a week with B1doge (top fuel mech) from Snowest reassembling the motor I took the sled over to SPS Racing for some serious refab. We installed a new turbo, refab'd the intercooler, modded the rear suspension and basically worked the sled over front to back. We made so many changes to the turbo system that it can no longer be considered an mcxepress but now is a custom SPS Turbo. SPS Racing does Polaris Dragon Turbos, Razor Turbos, any custom EFI turbo, suspension work and metal fab work. Brook Beckstrom the owner is a former world champ hillclimber for team Polaris and a well respected guy out here in the west.
The Boss Noss Nitrous system capable of an estimated 200 hp was all in working order and simply had to be cleaned up a little bit. It works so well I decided to take my water methanol off, I simply dont need it. Jims Nitrous flat out works. After 2 years of sitting in my garage my custom "hold my butt in the sled" Boss Seat looks like new as well!
Im out of time with the shootout on saturday. I dont have any more clutching to throw at it so Im gonna have to hope for the best. Shootout may be a bust with the blizzard like spring conditions we are having right now but we'll see. Ive had her on the snow for a quick test run to make sure she ran and she ran good. Ive been having a little low end prob, possible residual issue from the backfire. Last night we thought we got it cleaned up but you never know. Now Im just hoping she runs well and holds and all is done right.
Vids and pics from today?
Sunridge, you get my text?
You better make plans...or I guess make room.
It was the fastest 800 there period, other than jeremys who was running 22-25lbs with nitrous the whole way up."Only 800 that gave my CPC ho M8 a run was Jeremys super retro polaris turbo running 20+lbs with nitrous, we traded some wins. Tjs SPS turbo was fast but he was running less boost so couldnt catch me. I was running 16lbs all day and it took it very well. Still running when I pulled it in the trailer. CC and his pg twisted 1000 took off early but I dont think it would have been much of a race after seeing what it did to the other 1000s. The wastegate actuator only let me run to 16 lbs, couldnt go any higher. And on 16 lbs with the Boss Noss I ran the belt right out of the primary and blew it to pieces. Needs more gearing. Diamond drive only good for 86mph and I know we were blowing past that.
I beat plenty of 1000s. I also beat the boondocker 901 and the 1200. I heard the bd sleds turned up the boost and came back and beat my sled after I left but we did get them at least once. As for saying I was gonna beat 1000s I believe I said I would beat CCs 1000 and Shanes if it ran like it did at Fairview when we raced before, both of which are true.
Now lets go back to my claim that got your panties ruffled in the first place,
It was the fastest 800 there period, other than jeremys who was running 22-25lbs with nitrous the whole way up.
I guess where I said what it did to the other 1000s was misleading but I did beat many of them, whether they were low boost, bad runs or ill tuned I did beat many 1000s. Either way whatever, I know how my sled did and people asked so I told. CC talked a lot of smack and he took off and Im pretty sure I would have beat his sled since I know what boost he was running. I dont know when you left but my sled was faster at the latter part of the day and maybe you were gone. Ask Jeremy how it ran. And if you really want to prove something come to Tony Grove in 2 weeks and lay some $$$ down against the Terex and your m1000 or any other badass sleds you think you have. Afterall the Terex is a fair match cc for cc. Sad thing is I feel like my m8 is slow, its just funner sled for boondocking and runs well against others in its class. Try pulling the trigger on the trex with nitrous and youll experience a whole new religion.
Tony's in two weeks? I'm there for sure. Are we drag racing for cash or are we going to climb some stuff too? Some kind of winner takes all or what? The race hill at Tony's will be very interesting as that hill is much different than the bunny hill at Fairview. Tony's actually has a couple of hills that will let the turbos stretch thier legs a bit, not to mention some wicked climbs. Would like to get some Canadians down for that as well. Probably too late for this year, but I would like to set up some sort of Pig Iron Shootout at Tony's and get us a good turnout.
