Actic Man April 8-12, 2009

I remember a few years ago (06) there was a single track trail to the tit and everything else was pretty much untoched. I got suck out in the flats south of the tit and had to dig a 15' runway with a ramp back up th the snow so I could get enough steam built up to not get stuck right away. i hope it's like that!!!:D LET IT SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll be in 800-801. Was going to have low 500's, but my riding partner wanted to be back on the runway again this year.

Sounds like the snow is gonna be awesome this year. I can't wait. :beer;

Volunteers needed

AMMC will be putting on the Hill-X and Sno-X event at Arctic Man. We always need volunteers to help with flagging, set-up and tear down. We typically have a set number of slots across from Sno-X track and provide them free to our volunteers. If anyone would like to help out during the races and would like a free parking spot for your efforts send me a message. We won't work you to death but we do require that you give us some of your time to help put on the races. AMMC is a great organization that give kids a chance to have fun in a safe environment to relieve some built up adrenaline. If you like to watch the races this is a chance to get real close to the action.

See you there!

Should we organize some kind of get-together, either a ride or a drink at the beer tent, or meet at the hook-up spot during the race?

HAHA, every time we try to do that everyone is too hung over to ride and only 2 or 3 people show up for the ride. But we can try again this year:rolleyes:

I will be up there this year working at the Team CC section. Feel free to come BS for awhile during the day. Ill be there all week so looking forward to some evening rides if anyone is down.

After the Am don't turn in the motorhome's. The Valdez Mountain Man Hillclimb is the 17th-19th of April.

Contact Laura Saxe @907-835-2373 for race info.

The last couple years the snow's been good and the weather has been great.
Most of us stay up there from Thursday-Monday. and get a few good rides in. Hope to see you all there. :beer;:beer;

How about 10:30 in front of a beer tent on Friday, which is the race day? Be ready to leave soon after that, drive to a spot and still see the forerunner @11am. Race starts at 11:30. In case of race delay, we can keep the same time, different day?

If anyone is still looking for a good parking spot...my cousin has two 1 row back from the beer tent, you can crawl that far! Spots #292 & 293 (i think). If interested PM me and I'll give ya his phone number.:beer;

Will be there wensday with B.A.A.R.T. trailer and some extra avy gear. If you need a beacon or other gear (or training, riding )use channel 44 on talkabout radios to contact us.Do not know parking spot yet.

Firewood anyone?

Heading to AM on the 7th, and we need to get some firewood. Does anyone know where to get wood around ANC at a reasonable cost? I could drive to the Valley to pick up wood, too. Thanks!!!

Get it from Russ (I think thats his name), he will deliver it to your parking spot...$120 per 1/2 cord of beattle kill! 378-6312.

So, am I the only one that still has to get everything ready for Arctic Man... here I was thinking "whoooohoooo, in a week I am outta here!!!" then it donned on me that I have yet to get the motor home ready, prepare a menu & buy food, buy beverages ;) , pack gear, get gas cans filled, bring oil, buy a spare belt, and then I thought... do I really need to bring my own Rent A Can this year??? LOL I have a list of "honey do's" for myself ~ that I am putting off until Sunday ~ ~ procastination is a beautiful thing ;)

snow update????

The snow is way deeper than last year, but I can't imagine it would be that hard to get to the tit, there is usually a highway going back to it. I have not been up in a few weeks, will let you know if I go this weekend.

Any new updates? Doesn't really matter!!! Going anyway!:eek::beer;
