It's in this category 'cause I'm from Washington. So deal with it.
Never been there before. Went with a group of 9 total, stayed at Glacier House and ate, every night, at Zala's.... There is a reason for that....
First day we tried to get to Frisbee but it was socked in even at the cabin. Back to the Boulder side where we killed the day in some trees. The snow was deep enough, but the flat light was killing us. Day was salvaged with a couple of hours of decent light and some small hills within the trees.
Second day we headed to Frisbee again, again it was socked at the cabin. Rode down and found some incredible area off trail where there wasn't (for once) a sign warning to stay on trail because they had planted new trees. We had about an hour of incredible riding until one of the party stuck his sled vertically in a creek, track wedged against a stump, yada yada. 5 guys, 2 1/2 hours to get him out. And I don't have the pics...
Third day, rode straight to Boulder. It had snowed hard every night; much of every day. We weren't able to get much past the cabin in the morning so spent a couple of hours in the trees near the field. WOWWWWW! Funny to look back at the cabin and see all the other sledders standing around watching. It was almost like they didn't know what to do it the bowls weren't open. Sad.
We broke for lunch at 11am. Fact, some of the others hanging gave us a hard time for eating so early as the cooking they do up there on some weekends hadn't started yet. But then, when the sun broke out, they were eating and we headed up..
The sky's opened up and it was unbelievable. Completely exhausted myself. The views, even though we were surrounded by clouds, was fantastic. Rode up to 7900', could see areas that we would never reach on that day... so expansive.
There were a few older Poos with us, an Escape, an RT, one new XP, a D7 and 2 D8's (155 and 163). Only carnage was a bumper on an older Poo (tree won) and a mouth of backwash from two cycle oil when one cable broke and pre-mix became a requirement. All ran great. Of course, we had to take an end of the day pic...
I love being in control of the camera
And for MOB, to whom I have to admit we didn't get to Turtle ( I was a follower on this trip ), and token Captain Morgan shot:
