A hooligans opinion on slowflaps & temps

My point was that a different flap on a pro is not the silver bullet for these sleds. I believe ice scratchers help the most. as for a roost problem please we aren't in LA traffic. If you get roosted on the trail back off a little bit its that easy.
G Man I have about 800 miles on my 12 is that enough milage to validate my point that a snow flap for me has no effect. Also just becuase companies make coolers for people doesn't mean they run them on there sleds. Just becuase some one make a roof/ski rack for a corvette doesn't mean you should put one on. Are you one of those people that believe a dimmer switch and a tail light are a must have on a mtn sled? And please leave the LOL to the cafateria when you are texten your BFF. This is a place to talk about sleds not whats happening with the prom.

First time out with my Pro I overheated it within a half mile on trail with no scratchers.

I had no idea what the hell had happened because I wasn't sure yet on what the running temp should be, and the temp climbed so fast that I thought it was just getting up to running temp.

Needless to say I am very aware of my temp after overheating it without even having 1 mile on the sled.

My tether is a bit stretched out from having to jump on and off the sled pulling the scratchers up and down for when I'm on and off pow.

My sled heats up very quick when I go on trail with no scratchers

I never put the scratchers up ever, even in powder. They affect nothing. Don't ever rack em till trailer time

Yup, this is what we were doing last spring. I remember other riders looking at me funny and telling me my scratchers were down... my reply "yeah, I know, it's a Pro!".

FWIW I don't care how many miles you have and what you (OP) "think" you know... the problems didn't surface until spring riding last year (late in the evenings or early mornings when things were iced over). Also, FWIW, Fastrax and Van Amburg do NOT make products for the hell of it. Hell, they don't even have time to complete some of their current mainstream projects! They make problem solvers for mtn riders PERIOD.

Have FUN!

G MAN
