a few questions on a sled

Well im looking at a sled and not sure if its a good idea or bad so i thought id ask you guys. Its a 2003 mxzx 440 chassis that has been trail converted. It has an 800 built by sled x with cudney racing equipment. It has a team secondary, longer cooling system, oil injection. and thats all i really know. The motor has 150 miles on it since it was built up and put in the sled. Does the sled sound like a good ride and what is a fair price?

Thanks for the input. really appreciate the help from you guys.

From what i've seen, mod sleds can be a pain in the a$$, unless you build it and know exactly whats up with it. If I were you I would find an all stock sled and build it (or leave it) to your needs. Just my 2cents. What was thier reason for selling it???

sled

Thanks for the input. He said hes just getting out of sledding for awhile. Has a couple kids that keep him from having time to ride the way it sounds. Seems like a nice guy to deal with so far and it sounds like this isnt the first trail mod hes built up. I rode an 05 mzxz440 last year and loved it and this one seems like it would be less work with oil injection and more fitting to my needs.

Anyone else have some advice? Im still stuck on what to decide.

thanks

If its still running the race carbs and twin pipes stay away, if its a consumer 800 go for it ,as in pump head and rack carbs single pipe it should be okay. Check the nun on the sled well, it was the first year and they had the weakest nuns.
price would be 3500 to 4500.

Im pretty sure its not race carbs or twin pipes (i'll ask for sure) He said the 800 is an 02 and when he built it up with kudney head and stuff he put new bearings and all the stuff that should be done that people tend to leave out. And yeah the price he gave me was $4500 so we will see where he goes from there.
