Kavy, I would just like to tell you that your video was the topic of our January safety meeting here at the Monsanto Plant here in Soda Springs, Idaho. I am not sure on the head count but I am guessing that about 500 employees from Monsanto have a whole different outlook on avys than they did one month ago.

I didn't hear one word from anyone during the time the video played. You really open alot of eyes here in this small town. We are all into winter sports here because the winters are so long. I am pretty sure you have saved a life or two here!

I would like to thank you for sharing the story of your loss, so we may all learn a little respect for mother nature's powers. Good luck and God Bless!!

In deed I do still ski telemark ski to boot....check the following link for some home video from the past two years...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzI_m4nbXe0.

Also like to get out and snowmobile from time to time although since the accident had to sell my machine to cover bills so hoping to get another one sometime.

Again thank you for all the encouragement and for taking the time to watch the video. I am very humbled by how great the response has been to video and the extents we are reaching.

Sam, I would like to extend an offer. if you are ever down Colorado way, feel free to contact me and I would feel honored to hook you up for a day of sledding. I have enough sleds to accomodate you and hopefully show you a good time.

Your video has had an impact on many, that is obvious. Your enthusiasm for Life shows. Your humility and reverance regarding the impact this event has played in Your Life are a Tribute to Blake and His Family.

God Bless

Sam

Sam thanks to your and your friends for making such an incredible video, that was hard to watch. I can't imagine how hard it was for everyone involved. All this avalanche activity and information is scarring the hell out of me. We have beacons and know how to use them, but I think it's time for an avy course.

Awesome!!!!

Sam thanks for putting it together!! I am going to PM my riding partners to make sure they see it.

You are a great skier also!! Cool of you to chime in on the thread:D:beer;

I challenge EVERYONE to order the DVD to share with their riding buddies who do not frequent this site.

$5.49
For that price there is NO REASON to not have it in your collection!

Seriously,
buy the video.
That way you can let anyone see it any time!

Good time to bring this back up to the top. Most all of us in the West are going to be experiencing a high avy danger due to the storms/weather we've been getting.

First time I've been on snowest this year...been a long time lurker. While I only really use my sled for sled-skiing I still come in here quite a bit. I'm glad to see this video being posted on this forum. Unfortunately I had the oppurtunity to view this film after being involved in our first fatality this season in Colorado.

Definetely a must-see for anybody, sticky to the top, blah, blah been said before.

Sam if you read this...send me a PM, I've been looking for a way to get ahold of you since my accident but don't want to be intrusive...

I'm left rather speechless by the story. Choices! Understand this has impacted me, remember your friend. I know you both will be in my mind from this time forward.

Thank you for teliing the story, reliving probably the hardest moment of your life to tell the story.
