holy crap!! I'm in awe right now...

I guess it goes to show that even the most knowledgable person can give in to the temptation of the sick line or pull. We really gotta be thinking extra hard out in the hills.

one of the greatest comments of the video..."one dissenting vote equals the groups vote..."

it HAS to a be a conscious SPOKEN agreement!!!

That really makes me rethink some of the area's we ride. On those heavy snow days we keep to the tree's but our area's look alot like the video.

excellent post, helps people remember that experience/knowledge don't/can't do enough, you need to keep yourself out of those dangerous situations, period.

sad story, he was my age (where is the sad icon?)

Sheffy40,
Thanks for posting this, everyone needs to watch this video, PLEASE...

Admin, why don't you pin this so more people have a better chance of viewing??????????

I ordered this video through Sandy's ( Catwoman ) link. It came fast in the mail and was anxious to see it. The wife and I watched it together, but she couldn't sit throught the whole thing. Got too intense for her knowing what I do in the mountains, and being caught in a major avy myself, it really hit home. This show is a " must see " for anyone riding in the backcountry.

excellent link and vid, definitely a must for anyone who thinks they can out think mother nature. i'll pass for a potentially bad day for many more great blue days. my 2cents.

Really hit home since my first child is due March 16. I will definitely rethink some decisions on the mountain. Hard to watch for me right now.

My wife asked me why I had a tear in my eye--the sight of Blake's wife with his infant son was too much for me:brokenheart:

Exact same thing I was thinking. Now she has to explain to her son that Daddy died for a thrill. I dont want my wife to have to tell my kids that.

WOW

Don't watch @ work unless you want to answer questions about tears.

Great advice about listening to one disenter. I am sure I have been less cautious than I should be. We all need to listen to every rider and value their decisions.

Thanks for posting the video. We need more of that kind of stuff on here! We are small in number, compared to the total number of sledders, but our united voice of being safe, perpared, and aware can and will save lives!!

Watched this last night and stayed up till way after midnight to finish it. Really intense. Sam is quite a man. Made me want to get to know Blake more. I wish we could've heard from the helicopter crew that rescued Sam.
