Simple DNA test will classify it, and determine it's genetic differentiation from humans. It will either come back as something recognizable, or it will come back a member of the great ape linage, and a deterministic date of divergence will be easily determined. That's if they let scientist take a whack at it. It would easily be the most studied specimen in existence today. My guess is just after the press conference, it will mysteriously disappear. The reporters grilled them. They wanted to see the actual body. But, the two guys didn't know were it was. The asked them how they found the body, and after comparing notes, we now have 3 totally different stories about how they found the beast. And, their new friend got caught faking this before. And, there's some video where they admit it's a fake, or something.

So, a couple bad pictures, bad DNA, and no body, and inconsistent stories. Nothing ever changes with Bigfoot.
