97 670 Track Lengthening Q's

so i got the sled bug last year when my wife and i got a AC 580, and this year she got me a summit 670 to ride and a trailor. so my question is i cant seem to find any drop and roll kits for it? id like to get a 144 or 151 on it but dont really want to regear so a 151 might be out. i have read that i can get a 144 on by moving the skid down and back and using a 8" driver. any links to said driver?
also my rear suspension seems to be realy soft, thinking a new sock might be in order any suggestions for upgraded ones?
TIA:beer;

i put a 151 track and suspension on my 670, my track is 16 inches wide, it was alot of work but well worth it in the long run, with changing the whole rear skid i shaved about 35 pounds off of the total weight, yes i put new drivers on and they ran me about 100 bucks from my local dealer, the suspension i put under mine is out of a rev mod sled and it had all of the new brackets. 10 3/4 back and 3 inches lower. i think the pros out weigh the cons.
with changing the gears it allows me to run the track looser there fore releasing more power. i hope this helps you

97 670

Hey I did the same thing a few years back to my now back up sled.I found a drop and roll kit out of Dennis Kirks.I still have the stock drivers in it.Now I'm thinking of pushing out to 151. I never regeared it.

Summit97

I have a 97 that I D/R, I don't think any of the suppliers still carry the template kits, someone may have one laying around tho. When I went to a 151" I regeared and reclutched. The easiest way without the templates is to get smaller drivers, you should still regear and reclutch.

how about just adding rail extensions? looking on track usa and they have sc-10 suspension listed as 97 and the summit starts at 98, am i a sc-10 or a summit? the stock track is a 136" correct? sorry for the n00b q's newish rider to a new sled.

Put a suspension from an '01 HM in, relocated the front mounts 1" down and back" moved the rear mount back 1" and down 2 1/2". have a big wheel kit as well. Moving the mounts fives you a much better approach angle and better floatation. There are numerous "experts" on here, one of them is Big John, call him and he can tell you exactly what to do and get you all of the parts at a good price.

thanks for the help. one more Q tho does this fall under the summit chassis or the sc-10 chassis?

I lucked out when i did the work to mine cuz i got the templates with it all. i think it stableslizes more as well as gives you more moveabilityone of my good friends told me the next thing to do is either nos it or buy an 800(he is a top notch skidoo mechanic). the only down fall i have seen is you may have to get longer shocks to get the nose up and recenter the front end. i have rode it the way it is it is just a little nose heavy. depends on what you want out of your sled. as far as boon docking. i am happy thus far with the swap.

Swap the stock skis and the front end will not dive. A properly tuned and clutched 670 will keep up with most 800's so don't waste the money on an engine swap, plus the 670 is BULLITPROOF ! ! ! Before I went to nos I would research a turbo, there are a ton of guys that have put a turbo on a 670 and have them dialed in.

turbo would be fun but its big $$. heard good reviews of the powder pros, will they help with front end flotation on the 670? i got stuck good yesterday :(
