900 vs 800 xp

Sorry. I havn't. I have rode several older modded rmk 800's, dragon 700, and the new 600's. I have seen several 900 rmk's on the hill and pulled a few out when they were stuck lower on the hill then me. Never seen one out high mark my m7 with m8 kit and some other work. Never seen them out highmark a xp, 1m, 800 rev, or m1000. They arent too far behind, but definatly not better. a 166 900 rmk is close to a 151-154 of the others mentioned, but put a equal length track on the others and see what happens. I have listened to a guy ***** about having $2-3,000 in mods on his rmk 900 and was getting beat by mildly modded m7's. But I am sure his sled was not set up right and neither were the other ones I ran into.
It's OK. It is all just story time. I have heard plenty of stories about old 144 rmk 700's beating all the new sleds also.
Every one needs to just buy old rmk 700's and rule the mountains. :D

Ice cap is so right. I rode with an XP 154 last weekend and a D8 163. My 900 out pulled both and they were both probably better riders than me as well.

I did see a XP 163 2 weeks ago in Cooke that climbed higher than every one else including 3 M1000’s. My sled was a close second but my secondary was WAY messed up and i had to replace all the weights and ramps. That sled ran good and it was paired with a amazing rider.

As for the vibrations being so bad it puts your hands to sleep… I have no reply. The only vibration I ever notice really is around your feat.

My brother and I both have 05 900's. Our friend has an XP and let me tell you that XP makes our 900's look stupid! BUT the owner of the XP has been riding for a quite a long time, and my brother and i havent touched a sled for the last 6yrs since i had my 95 Vmax. Moral of the story is its the riders ability, and not so much the machine that is being ridden.
When someone has been off a sled for so long it doesn't matter what you have for a sled an experienced rider that has been riding every eason will make you look bad until you get back into the swing of it and put a bunch of miles on.

Well, I started this thread a few weeks ago before I got my 9. Been out on it 4 times now in the most unimaginable powderey snow conditions. I love mine so much that I encourage well experienced (IMO) riders to try it. Every one including xp owner says the will be getting one! No lie! Funnest anything I have ever experienced!

Thanks for the good report....I just picked up a 9 a couple weeks ago too and have yet to try it. Very excited and interested....

There is something seriously wrong with you if anything is falling asleep while you're riding a 900.

I got my clutching right finally and i am having the falling asleep problem as well... Although it only happens when i stop and i put my feet on the back of the tunnel and I pull back and hit the throttle at the sane time??? I am having this problem with red stuff in my eyes when I hold the throttle down for a few seconds... then when I let go I fall right to sleep? My friend tells me the only way to solve the problem is to get an XP, is that true?

You'll get plenty more sleep if you got an XP. You'd have to wait at the bottom of the hill for the guy you sold your 9 to while he finishes riding. You wouldn't have anything else to do but sleep on your new XP. The red stuff in your eyes is probably the paint burning off from going through the atmosphere too fast and burning up when you hit the accelerator. That's not a problem you'll have on a XP.

Wow..... is it deep in here:beer;. One of the worlds heavist 2 stroke mtn sleds with maybe 150 hp and it whips on everything made, riiiiiiiiight. Makes you wonder why such a super sled almost led to polaris's demise:confused:
