900 vs 800 xp

hell yah 0 miled and a 166'' track warranty and keeping up with brand new sleds.....thats all i care about. I ordered little things like a can, skis, vents, and a intake and not a gay slp one i think the timbersled one creates better hp.....

My brother and I both have 05 900's. Our friend has an XP and let me tell you that XP makes our 900's look stupid! BUT the owner of the XP has been riding for a quite a long time, and my brother and i havent touched a sled for the last 6yrs since i had my 95 Vmax. Moral of the story is its the riders ability, and not so much the machine that is being ridden.

I have a 06 900 159 and my brother has a 07 700 Dragon down the trail he will beat me, but climbing its a toss up and I weighs 250 he weighs 180 both stock sleds except silencers

If your 900 doesn't beat the dragon 700 then you have got some setup to do on the 900...... It should be no contest.

ok now you are just making stuff up doo it. I have TONS sleds this year and none of them pull as hard as my 900 except a 900 with NOS. 40 pounds don't mean chit when you are in deep powder, you are tired from riding 100 % all day, you sled is completely covered with snow and ice buildup. What matters is having a reliable sled that will reliably put you on top the hill, ride smoothest, float the easiest and float the best. I don't car if your XP is lighter than my 900. I know that with me riding my 900 i can put it allot higher on the hill than i can riding an XP. I know i love my sled and i also know that it is a very underestimated machine.

All i know is that my 900 will go places i don't need to be, it always gets to the point on the hill i want. Has never left me walking. Has never bucked me off on a hard mogle. has never left me crippled after a ride. And it has also never been out climbed by a 600, 700, or 800 anything, the only sleds that have high marked me this year are 07 M1000, and a few poo 900.My sled has always handled predictably in the true rocky mountains and I would never trust my life to any other sled deep in the back country ware having a better designed and better built sled saves lives.

BTW, yea my bumper on my 900 has been broken and yes it is a poor design. What can I say, don’t run into stuff and it will never get hurt.

I have BOTH 05 RMK 900 151 and XP 154 x -

My 900 has NEVER left me, bucked me off...I've taken a 4 foot drop unexpectedly thinking I would thrown around and didn't even feel it. Very reliable, predictable, take-care-of-you sled. Pulls hard...

My XP while is still a baby, I think she pulls hard like my 900 don't do too much climbing..mostly boondocking. I still trust my 900 more than my XP. Might be running both this week. Will have to see how the kids do. Love them both.

my nine

Well, I started this thread a few weeks ago before I got my 9. Been out on it 4 times now in the most unimaginable powderey snow conditions. I love mine so much that I encourage well experienced (IMO) riders to try it. Every one including xp owner says the will be getting one! No lie! Funnest anything I have ever experienced!

Kurt

the 9 is one bad boy and so is the xp but I think the 9 will trash the xp my 9 does it every week end.

if you are having a hard time with 7d you need to set up the 9 right there should be no contest I go 250 buddy is 170 ish and beat him all the time

the biggest problem sled I run with that doesn't have boost Is a Genesis 1250 or something like that in a cat with the 30 hp button I put 55hp button on and can run right with him and run with the 2 turbos on the button .

Same , Our 9 in our group beats on xp's , so does other sleds...

The xp is not a good comparison.:D

I have a 06 900 166" that can't quite hang with the XP 154". mine is all stock. If they need to be setup right what needs to be done to beat the XP.

once again my 900 out does the xp in every aspect . except gitting out of the hole .the xp kicks my *** for three slead length out of the hole . this is only spot that the xp sines in and 900 on with my nos there is no comparson
900 rmk 151 2.4 track
800xp 154 2.25 track
both sleads run pipes both are reclutched both have noss
the xp noss is ok not grate but is still an inprovement

You are SO RIGHT...took both my 05 900 RMK 151 and my xp 800 154 and from dead stop my xp got the hole shot from my 900. did a running start and my 900 beat by far......both kids have cans; my 900 has an airbox...but that's about it.

Polaris takes alot of crap for the 900. I had one for 2 1/2 years and 2200 miles. I have a 700 edge that sat almost the whole time cuse I loved the 900 so much. My 900 ate one belt and it was pretty much my fault. It never ate the better 1115 belt in almost 2000 miles. I never had a problem with it. I would buy one again, especially if I had to have multiple mountain sleds. It would be a better buy than a new 600 for an experienced rider. The 900's are underrated and unappreciated by people that don't have them or haven't ridden them. It's easy for people to pick on Polaris and the 900. If you guys wanna pick on something, talk crap about the Tundra and the worthless piece of crap that is. Heck, I hear they're going through the same number of cranks!

why are you comparing 900's to 800's? it's unfair. Maybe compare the same engine class? I love the D8 and summit 800 xp its a tough call.
The RMK 900 isnt even really a 900, its a 866. Thats hardly an advantage over the XP. Especially if you want to talk power to weight ratio where the XP has a HUGE advantage over the 900. I believe it when people say the 9 beats the XP, I have a 9 and it puts a perma-grin on my face every time i ride it.

Say What!?

O.K. I'm not a poo lover by any stretch, but you couldn't give me a doo. The 900 poo in 05, 06 was a horrible machine. Vibration issues so bad it would put your hands to sleep in a matter of seconds. They were powerful yes, if you got a good one. What about the crank issues? They vibrated so bad the took out the bottom end. I ride a 900 King Cat, and have rode with 900 poo's and new xp's and have no problem with the doo's. Off the line they are a little quicker, but after that it is no contest. They trench like a backhoe and are a pain to sidehill. The doo is a different story. Neck and neck. It comes down to rider and situation. We have traded high marks and flat drags. But it does vibrate like a Harley on one cylinder. Just my 02.

Sometimes the truth is hard to take...........Yes some 900 RMKs don't perform as good as they could. However a well setup 900 is real hard to beat for any sled....... Only highly modded naturally aspirated ..... or forced induction will beat a dialed in 900.

Puff.. Puff... Give..
You guys sure are smoking the good **** over here.
Every 900 rmk I have ever seen must not have ben set up right. :beer;

Badass1000, from what you have posted previously, you obviously have not seen or ridden a well setup 900 RMK
