885r BB tq monster in revy over the week

Your wash looks very good. It is just a little rich but why risk running it right on the edge with a big bore?

MTNSLD

A little rich? l.o.l Fred I wouldn't go down any more for mtn riding. Drag racing, you have room. my .02 Another great engine from Ralph! (The quiet guy who lets his engines do the talking)

went for another day trip today... went to corbin

.... i got my secondary machined 60tho for more belt adjustment and moved the secondary out 1/8" more than before(shimed).... secondary and primary look much better allined now, no more black streaks on inner primary shive

used the 803 ultimax once again and ran fine, no hickups at all with now close to 500 miles on it

went to 470 main on the mag side and went from 1.25 turns on the fuel/air screws to 1 turn from being turned all the way in

sled ran better today then ever before, temps were close to -20 when we left to -10 at the end of the day... sled ran very crispy...clickers most of the day on 3

now we had a m1000 and a turboed apex with us... got my *** royally handed to me today from the apex on the long climbs.... this has to be the best sled i have ever seen climb, he says 350hp, and i beleive it

we climbed in some very long steep climbs today and when i turned out on mine, his machine with me driving it, i would be going over 20mph crossing over my high mark marks, and still picking up speed, never felt anything like it!!(scarry as hell cat walking up a vertical edge wth so much track speed)

now in the tress is a new ball game, xp hands down had the edge, as for the m1000 it ran good, but not good enought:D:D

over all the 885 is dialed in and running strong, hitting 58mph climbing... i hope to have the new style y pipe, cpi pipe and joes helix out for next weeks ride.... on average now sled is better than stockers on fuel

had my girs birthday this weekend so i was not able to go riding, but the other guys (5xps)did in montana...(hungryhorse...snow is great)

i had ordered a pipe threw cpi and had it sent to montana for them to bring back(320 dollars shiped)... i guess they open the package and new what i had planned, dirty buggers put the pipe on today and ran it on their stock xps, lol

just got off the phone with them and they had nothing but good things to say about it, all sleds were faily equal yesterday climbing and today the sled that had the pipe was the winner by a margin, he had clicker 6 yesterday, and today clicker 3 and 4, he also did my airbox mod and said the sled right out rocks... then went on to say that we need to order 5 more... looks like i will be armwrestling for my pipe now

the dyno sheets cpi sent me show a stock hp of 150.9hp and a gain too 162.2 with their single pipe and a airbox mod... never know maybe most of it is their

the guys are using mbrp cans... was told even better results with the bigbores, so i am a little excited to try it out

will post my findings

send it to ralph

Let Ralphy dyno it and see what he says. What does he have to say about a pipe for that motor?

some info on cpi, ypipes and dynoport

went for a 3 day ride at corbin

i got my spi ypipe, cpi pipe, dyno port ypipe and pipe, and can all over the last few weeks:D:D ... busy week for the ups guy

found out that the spi y pipe needed some tlc and when the dynoport ceramic ypipe showed up one day latter, it went on instead of the spi:o

i then decided to go with the dynoport, pipe and can they sent, all ceramic coated and look great:D... good job rich.... the can is about 9lbs(rich says 1.5hp above stocker)

the day i tested the pipe on, we can crazy deep powder, and from what i could tell the pipe did well, on average i was lower by about 1 clicker under stock.... before i offer a final answer on this i would like another ride to compare to cpi... and would like to compare it to the dynoport/mbrp that a few others have tried and have had great results

second and third day i ran the cpi/mbrp setup, down on average two clickers,(ran on clicker two/three) sled felt very chipper and never pulled down on the long climbs... raced a buddys m1000 on the flat at 7500' in armpit powder, he said i had him by more than ever before

from the climbing aspeck it seams it was even better, hitting around the 60mph track speed a few times

so final observations for the ride were, need more testing on the dynoport pipe and can

dynoport y pipe looks to be a hit and i think offers quicker rev and hp tobout

cpi/mbrp pipe/can setup ran stong with the ypipe... and i thought had the best results this ride... 1 to two clickers lower

cpi is also sending me a second pipe to try out offering maybe a little more for the BB over the stock cpi... hope to be able to try out come this weekend

as for the 885, now with over 580miles on it i ran like a top and never boged even once... all others sleds had issues

treid the new 377 belt out and it ran cooler than ever before, but belt dust to the point that i have never seen my motor that dirty!!, few black marks still on the primary

installed digatrons and found 150degrees difference on idle and midrange till wot between cylinders??, but both are close on wot, never seen over 1050

DJs helix hopfully makes its way here before thursday night so we can give it a try and find a bit more mph

over all very happy with the BB and the light sleds performance in the steep and deep

turboal

that set up was on a 885 or stock sled?
what was the best set up on a stock seld?

thank you
jeremy

was an 08 with my 860 kit, 154 track.
best stock set up was primary as it came , but good components [that was challenging]
secondery , stock helix and a secondery spring with 50lbs more end load.
gearing stock.
clutching the bb will be different with the twins .i wouldnt expect anyone to have a good clutching set up for twins till well into the winter .takes a good number of trips out.
less if you dont forget something in your pack for the testing .twins usually ask for a more sensitive set up , faster back shift capabilities .depends on the twins a lot to so different brands may tend to be asked to be clutched differently .
