509 Goggles - Terrible Customer Service!

It's never fun when mistakes are made. Especially when you are on the receiving end. Customer service can get a little tricky at times. Sounds like Tom was just taking a little well deserved time off. And is more than happy to once again make things right.
I think Tom deserves a lot more credit than he often receives. My understanding is he went from being a one man show not that long ago. And now has major distribution through WPS. Also an ever increasing dealer base. Regional sales reps......etc. I'm sure this creates all kinds of manufacturing and distribution headaches. Not to mention Tom's other ventures. Seems like he has a well thought out product. And improves on that product when avenues present themselves.
Just wanted to touch on the mirrored lenses real quick. Yes most companies lenses scratch very easily. And as Tom stated the mirror won't always look real evident until you are wearing it with no light coming through the back side.

I love when people leave me red rep and don't sign there name. They try to leave a sarcastic comment that comes out sounding like two retarded kids battling it out for 27th place in the spelling bee. And still don't have the balls to leave a name. Figures

did you get called a "cheareleeder" too......LOL. I hear ya, folks are so friggen scared to stand up for what they believe, guys like yu and myself are getting lost in the californication of the united politically correct states of america.

I hope you call em' like you see em' forever......I will.

Hey, I'm a cheerleader. LOL
We just need a couple more and we will have a squad.
Ra, Ra, pass the beer.:p

ya know when a guy with some history posts his expierience it is real easy to look back and see.... is this guy a chronic whiner or a stand up guy who got screwed. a guy rolls in and puts a BS post for his maiden voyage.....unreal.

I suppose if you deal with enough folks there will be some problems. I feel for anyone that gets hosed on any deal, we have all been there and if not will be. but to register on a forum just to bash a vendor is crap.

That's what forums are all about. Post experiences, good and bad, learn from others. Give the guy a break.

ordred some and everything was correct and arrived in a couple of days, unfourtantly, the wife saw how good they were and had to order her some. The only thing that happened was on both pairs the lens was not all punched out on the top vent holes and they fogged. No big deal punched out the plastic and never fogged again. I have owned lots of gogles and these are by far the best snowmobile gogles i have ever used and am sure most of the peeps i ride with will be sporting some real soon.

I've been dealing with aftermarket companies for years and now know some of the people personally but business is business. The fact that Tom is a good guy shouldn't have anything to do with anything. I don't know Tom so really, all I care about is whether or not my order is correct and on time. No offense to you Tom.

It seems that he couldn't return phone calls or messages from an order made in early december but he had time to fill orders in mid to late december without a problem.

Why do we continue to accept poor customer service and make excuses about why it's less than perfect. What happened to having some pride in your business and respect for your customers? Is is hard work? Yes, but if it's not working then it's time to change something. I've seen too many negative posts about the customer service.

It is commendable that Tom has made things right with the customers LATER but why so many messed up orders NOW?

My next set of goggles will no doubt be 509s as my fellow snowesters have had many good things to say about them but rest assured I will be getting them through the local dealer and will end up paying more but the extra $10 will be worth not dealing with the headache.

Neg rep me if you choose. Am I really out of line?

No you are not out of line. This is the point that I was trying to make also. I think you hit the nail on the head!

Hero, Sawyer WAS that kid battling for 27th place:D

Good service & a GREAT product ! Ordered 2 pair & received them ( in Canada ) in about 1 week . Rode for 4 days in all conditions & they are by far the best goggles I have used .

Don't think you are out of line at all. I know I work hard for my money and when I purchase or order an item I want the best possible customer service and I want my items correct and on time. I know mistakes happen and I have made mistakes too but from the posts I am reading there seem to be more than a FEW mistakes being made on Tom's end. This forum has to potential to be used as a good learning tool by all.

Guess your only supposed to have an opinion if you agree with em.

I only stood up for tom because i have seen his service time and again. a guy shows up and his very first post is a friggen knife in the back. pretty easy for a guy to log on and drop bombs. I never said a word one when PUD, or anyone else had probs, fact is I would try to help them out if I could........but some guy rolls in and his first post is like this.......sorry bro, time to step up. I saw it before anyone so I took it. I would do the same thing tomarrow for any reputable person/business on here. neg rep that if it makes you feel better, I could care less.

go look up my posts, of them you will see 90% are an effort to help people out.

100% of this guys posts are bashes.........way to be guy way to be.

I've never met Tom. EVER. He lives 2 states away and 4 hours from me.

I've had PERFECT customer service from Tom. More than once. Infact...I've ordered from him about 6 times I think. PERFECT every time.

Infact...he sent me goggle lenses one time before I paid for them so that I could have them for a ride last spring.

I'm Scott and I approve his customer service.

Tom's customer is second to none! Can't wait for the new products in the coming years. 509 gear rocks!

Heres the problem.
When you come on a post up with Terrible customer service, it can seriously hurt a guys buisness.

instead, you could have come on here and asked if anyone could get ahold of Tom.

Something like,
I have a problem and am trying to get ahold of him. Can anyone help.
Gives Tom a chance to respond or someone to get ahold of him, without slamming or making accusations.

reason.
People have axes to grind. If they see a slam thread, they pile on. The original problem gets lost and then you end up with hard feelings. Now it sounds like you made a good faith effort to get ahold of him outside the forum, you should have just extended that to here.
