500 miles at 11.5psi of boost (3000ft)

We have more than 2000 engine dyno passes on the polaris engine, more than 25 000km on the snow( only us) n/a and turboed , all with our ECU. There isn t one rule for all the kit you can apply. There is so many variables in the 2 stroke environement ...... The best i can say for now is make sure you have a solid tune, change fuel filter every 1500km, change pistons every 3000km (the rings get loose even on a solid tune) and do properly size your turbo on your setup( most frequent mistake from the turbo manufacturer) , if you are realy going for long term reliability a water to air intercooler is a must ( personaly, i wouldn t run what ever turbo kit without HM TURBO intercooler, keeps charging temp in the lower 30 celsius at any given throttle/pull duration vs 80-100 celsius without it...... factories are spending millions of $$ in R&D to produce as less heat as they can with their engines, heat is an engine ennemy.finaly fresh reeds ( with reeds stop) every 3000 km is recommended also( reeds are working a lot on a turbo application and are extremely important component). So, performing those maintenance operations will save you a bunch of headache. Now you just need to pray so your fuel pump does go, your stator doesn t start to malfunction, jackshaft hold together ect ....:)

What do you feel the fuel filter should be changed every 1500 miles?
What are you using for reed stops?
I agree intercooler is very important in our application.

1120 miles on 12-13 pounds... 100 % fresh 100ll with 32:1 ratio and 2oz per 5 gal premix....zero issues

And I will agree With Gino on this one....things happen all the time, nature of the beast, vipec, motec, atitude whatever. Think nascar motor, most carefully assembled and tested engine on the planet and still breaks...no biggie just move on and learn

Heres my pistons after 1000miles on my Boondocker turbo kit at 8psi. Stock compression and straight pump gas. Buying rktek turbo head to prevent this happen again.

Most of the damaged is from riding the sled home from the mountain afterwards. But its definatly deto that is the cause! :)

This is with no doubt detonation and it has been happening for a long period. It is definately a very big tuning problem/setup problem. To me, way too much timing all across the rpm band, this is serious detonation here.

Polaris suggest to change fuel filter every 1500km( not miles) and they are right, very often it is a bit plugged with this mileage.i am using hm turbos reed stop.

Yes I know. Thats why im going for a different head. Taking it from 12.5 in compression to 10.2.

Keep in mind, that drop in compression will hurt response on a big way. I feel for you guys that have no real affordable option for good fuel out there. $5.29 / gallon for 100LL around here helps me to talk smart about running food fuel....

Avgas here is $10.36 a gallon, but is illegal to buy unless you got an airplane and aviation license. Race gas is $29 a gallon!!!!

Nice work..... The rod bearing's are going to be a tattered mess. New crank would be a must for me.

in this topic we do not discuss specific turbo kit manufacturer, here I put the information of informed experimentation for maximum pressure that can withstand engine Polaris. And the pressure is absolute and it does not matter what and how turbine manufacturer turbo whale This pressure is created. On pressure 11.5-12 my buddy drove 500 miles (he is crazy and i told about it to him), often made long press the throttle for 10-15 seconds. Here I would like to hear people's opinions about the cause of the incident with the pistons and methods to combat this

and gus, ViPec is best ever product and does not matter what do you think and talking here. Please to know this.

One more time guys. My sled working extremely well. If you want i can give to all one more fresh video after end of this weekend.
And one more of most thing - i and my buddies very happy with vi pec kits.
And you should to know - time will tell!

I'll take another video please:face-icon-small-hap
