3" track sh!t the bed

I rode with 3 peeps this past weekend here in Wyoming- they were from Spanish Fork Utah- They all had the 3.2 with 7 avids- and ran ok.
2 had the stage 3 SLP
The 3.2 is pretty tight especially at the bend top side in the tunnel- and less than a finger width in the front/
Bottomless powder all weekend I'll say it again yes it was bottomless!!- was there a difference?.. yep - huge -nope- not night and day for sure in the snow conditions we had.
With a little base I think this will be the ticket especially with the snow depth we have currently.

I spoke to Paul Yesterdy @ FNI and he did say it was tight also but the trade off was noticable..

I'm confused. Are you comparing the polaris 3" to the 3.2 or the 2.6" to the 3.2?

Yes. Changed drivers. Make sure they are centered on the drive shaft. 3 3/8 inch on each side if I remember correctly. That was the hardest part of the swap. For some reason this install went much smoother than the install on my pro.

I will get some pictures of track clearance, but thought I would share how great this thing works in deep snow...it's a tractor.

thats plenty of room. the 3'' tracks actually rub on the tunnel of xp's and non-T3 xm's when the track is brand new. people have been doing it for years with no ill effects. in 5 years we'll be talking about 4 inch tracks haha

3.2 vs 3 as far as tunnel clearance/ never said anything about the 2.6 - but since you asked, the 2.6 with 8 tooth drivers ( we have 2 of them) has more clearance than them all
Not much room for snow at all for snow evacuation on the 3.2 w/ 7 tooth ( all this is at the front of the tunnel where front exchanger used to be)

It will be less than 3/8" at the front closeoff

Even less at the front roof of the tunnel.

Super important to keep these tall-lugged tracks TIGHT!!

At least as tight as the factory tension prescribes.

Also, with all of that extra traction...good idea to run a couple of extra cross braces on the rails.... to keep the rails nice and straight.

"Not Rubbing" and proper clearance are two different things.... once ice forms on the front closeoff... it will be slapping the ice there the whole time.

Just my two cents... the 3" is tight... the 3.2" will be even tighter... On a sled designed with optimal clearance for a 2.6" track on the same drivers.
