3" Lug Mountain Sled Shootout

They point out faults of doo and cat and Yamahahaha. Whether or not we agree with them is our decision.
But to not point out a single fault for poo is because they are bias, plain and simple.

GS6

That's about how I felt about the video. But I just don't ever leave my sleds stock.

I leave my engines stock minus a can, but that's where it ends. Both my Axys and my 16 Cat are about equal sleds to me now. Well that is, after putting $5K into my axys, and $2K into my Cat. I jump on both about the same amount, and can ride the snot out of both without having to change the way I ride them. Unlike the 16 Doo, which I still don't feel comfortable on. Everyone has their own opinion, and that's mine.

i don't always agree with wyo, but i think his point is correct...if someone is going to claim an unbiased comparison; then point out the weaknesses of all the compared sleds, the strengths, and then the preferences of the riders doing the comparison....to present the poo as having no flaws is either naive, deceptive, or bought and paid for advertising...:face-icon-small-dis...a magazine comparo being influenced by advertising $, say it isn't so...:face-icon-small-hap

I'm never said it wasn't the best (except in some stupid example s, that where clearly bias like the video)
In fact I stated the same thing. It's got nothing to do with my skills, mods or whatever.
It's about bring up so called faults of the others and not of the axys.
Plain and simple bias and misleading.

They either should have brought up the equal faults of the axys or not mentioned the others. I prefer they just leave it out and talk purely about the benefits of each.

Just like the one post I posted earlier.

They were biased towards the one they liked the best? How are YOU any different? It is just a really worthless point to try and belabor.

Besides, who watches one video and buys a $10k+ machine based solely on that information? If they do, they get what they deserve. Anybody seriously shopping the top sleds knows the pros and cons. 30 minutes on this site will give you a pretty good feel for each brand issues.

Most of us just can't figure out why it bothers you so...

The people that chime in saying it is an unbiased video is what has started all of this.
It is as biased as can be!
The Axys is a great sled, so is the Cat and Doo. The persons ride style and capabilities will determine which sled fits them best. They all have faults/weakness'. when pointing out faults in a product comparison, u must be fair to all products. If not ur either biased towards one of the products or ignorant.
Pretty simple for anyone to understand!

I have a GREAT idea . . .why dont you Cat lovers can go find a video that says your brand is the best and post it on the cat forum. . .?? That'll make the wounds heal faster :)

And . ..we will enjoy riding the best stock 3" lug mountain sled money can buy.

Cheers!

Finally, see we ate on the same page. It's bias. That was my point and only point.

Bother me, what else am I going to do in the middle of summer.

I personally enjoy riding with poo guys and watching them try to figure out why there "best sled ever" can't keep up.

Really the only thing that slightly bothers me is the comment of the cat spindles and no low end grunt.
It's so easy to clutch the cat to perform that the comment is just ignorant. When attempting to present yourself as a professional and failing on that point is just pitiful.
The spindles.... it never was the spindles, it was the boards!!!
A skilled rider knows that! It's clear as day when you understand sleds and as a pro you have to understand everything...

BTW, I disclose all information when referring ppl to buy, I literally told ppl that said they won't mod anything to go buy a axys, if it fit there riding style. Pretty much if your not going to at least put boards on and want to at least have the potential attempt following me you better be on one. Of course it needs a little more to actual keep up but trying on a wide boards sled you can't even get past attempt.

I literally told ppl that said they won't mod anything to go buy a axys,

That is exactly what this video was about. . . . stock sleds that have not been modified. Bias is all in the eyes of the beholder and their opinions, or perhaps the brand they ride. At the end of the day . .. who cares??!! One could argue that point all day, and still get nowhere. What a waste of time! Ride the sled you love and love the sled you ride :)

I would encourage you to start a thread of your own, on how you would mod each brand of sled. Some of your ideas / suggestions have merit, and might even lead to some productive and informative discussion. In this setting, and on this thread, it doesn't.

Crazy how the majority of the concerns of this shootout are from Arctic Cat owners or anything other than a Axys owner. Let's not forget that this is in the Polaris section, not the X Brand VS X Brand section. It's a person giving his opinion on his show. If you do not like it, do not watch it.

I put on many races all winter will multiple new Doo's coming in with damaged front ends and blown tracks and blown engines. Yes many pictures to prove it. We have not had to pull in a single Axys for a bent A-arms. With that said there is many Polaris's with known issues as well, they all break at some point. Now if you hit a tree or a good size rock the A-arm may bend, in fact it is designed to do so.

If the people doing the testing never had or seen issues how can they complain about them??? Do you want them to make up something to make you happy? Well they are not going to...

The comment about a Cat with skinny board will out handle any Axys is about as bias of a statement as it gets. If a sled can not handle good as manufactured then it has an issue. Of course you can make things better but were talking stock.

I would like to say I ride with all sleds from stock to all out custom with all types of rider abilities and for now I will definitely stick with my sled.

I love my WE shocks on my Axys Pro RMK
I love my 3" stock Polaris track
I love my 800HO Axys engine
I love everything about my Polaris Axys!

For anything I own I do not leave them stock, even if I think it does just fine as is, it just is not me.

It's still bias.

The reason you won't see many doo guys is because the dint have any options yet to even compete. But bmfab is about to change that.

Still, I've seen more axys bent arms and broken spindles from lighter hits than bent xms, if you bend a XM you can be pretty sure it would have bent the axys. Big difference is the XM bends the structure where the axys doesn't. So it's a good and a bad thing, easily changed with arms and spindles... oh wait we can't mod anything. Lol

I agree with the results, but say the video is bias, that's all. Glad to see this forum hasn't changed much with all the butt hurtness.

and if you guys clean up and delete all of the broken this and that and tps threads around here, the poo really will be #1 and perfect.:)

I thought all the trivial my brand is better than yours posting didn't traditionally start until August? Hopefully this banter in July will get the snow flying a month earlier this season:face-icon-small-hap

Ride the heck out of what you like and have a great year!

A person can't bring this back to basic forum BS and people getting butt hurt.
Just be happy knowing you are the smartest guy behind the keyboard in this particular thread....
....or at least as long as you believe it, that's all that really matters.
