2026 Summit X 14 pounds

I'd rather have a stronger machine that was 25lbs heavier but never broke. Most people can loose 15-25 lbs pretty easy.
Depending on hp and riding the weight sometimes isn't an issue. Ride a 270hp sidewinder tank and you'll be surprised how good it works and climbs for a heavy machine.
You also feel like you got drug through a knot hole backwards at the end of the day. There's a reason they went away.

They said it lost 14 pounds WET weight - cut down the capacity of the gas tank and viola! you have 14 pounds
Only 2lbs of that is coolant weight. Still lost 12 lbs dry on the 154" X. Tunnel, cooler, track (154" only), coilover skid, upper a-arms, and s-mod all lost weight on the X.

Another thing that should draw attention is you can't hardly make a doo bog. They just run. Just got back from a week in Wyoming and my 858 was bogging left and right. Uphill and downhill. Polaris's were bogging. My buddy's boost was pretty good. That's worth its weight in gold.
I'm not going to argue against Doo being the best if pull and go is a big priority, but the closest to bogging I've experienced on my Pro (twice now) is when the bushings for one of the clutch rollers goes. And that's pretty minor. It has benefited from quite a few tweaks though, and it does seem a new Polaris is more likely to need attention. But I don't hear of or see many issues with the newer Poos I've rode with. I think if things stabilize with Cat, you'll see big improvements with the 858. Even the Doo guys say you can tell a big difference between an early 850 and a new one, and Cat's had a lot less resources. The downside is, there are a lot of ways the 858 could end up an orphan...

The gas tank is the same size as before - 9.5 gallons... unless you're comparing to Polaris at 11 gallons. Poos can be harder on gas, not that I've noticed a big difference over a friend's Doo 850 I ride with. 9.5g on a Doo 850 is probably about right. Most days, I could get by on 2/3 of a tank, but the days where it matters (deep), I need it all. That said, I'd think a bigger tank on the turbo would be a good idea. I've gotta wonder how many turbo riders have to pack gas. Obviously, a small gas tank is one way to win the wet weight contest (a bad way), but for the NA Doo 850, I don't think they're pushing that envelope.
