Doo is heavier but only weight that really matters is rtr weight. Seen 515 on 850. Seems like 858 was 511 on same scale. Your also getting shot. I'll grant Polaris may be fudging it's dry weight (they have a history, anyway), but I don't think it's to the tune of 18lbs, and Polaris has been about the same weight going all the way back to the Pro. They could probably respond by dropping another 10lbs (I'd love it if they did). It's good to see them drop a little weight, but if you want the lightest sled, the choice is still obvious... That said, it's at least something, and the other changes will add to it. Anyway, I wasn't expecting anything big this year from anybody, and so far...

Weight has a direct correlation with reliability. They could make a sled under 300lbs, but it would break every time you looked at it (Cough... Another thing that should draw attention is you can't hardly make a doo bog. They just run. Just got back from a week in Wyoming and my 858 was bogging left and right. Uphill and downhill. Polaris's were bogging. My buddy's boost was pretty good. That's worth its weight in gold.I saw 438 on the spec sheet in the other thread, but whatever. Like I said, if there was pressure on them, they could get lighter. Polaris's reliability problems mostly boil down to inconsistent construction and QC - not issues caused by things being built too light. Doo might be pushing the envelope harder at this point - between the heavier engine, wider track, chain vs. belt drive, etc. Doo's motor is nice in some ways, but before SHOT, not worth the extra weight and price to me. SHOT maybe changes the equation - all else being equal - but not enough to really draw my attention at this point.
