2025 g5 summit expert turbo r bogging and dying.

Picked up this sled yesterday, ran it easy for 25 miles in and out of throttle, never went beyond 1/2.
Found a play area and some hills and did a few light short pulls, once the turbo started to spool it would lay over and bog and loose power.
When it was doing this the engine temp was 125 degrees, it actually died a few times and almost did not make it back to the truck.
I am an automotive tech for a living so diagnose is my thing i do well.
Feels like a fuel pump issue, a few times it was even running on one cylinder. No codes in the self diag center. After doing some reading it looks like people with the same issue as me ended up getting fuel pump replaced, also found some injector issues. Nothing like paying 20k for something and have it take a **** the first 2 hrs. I hope it was not a mistake buying this thing. I ripped around on my 9r after that and had a blast. Dropped machine off at dealer, hopefully they can pull a code or do a fuel pressure test.

Well they called today, they found a wastegate code and brp told them to do a relearn on the wastegate actuator, they found a code buried deep in the ecm
Brp is actually going to issue a tsb for this issue now i guess. Not the first time this has happened. Basically they reset the low and high range voltage on the sensor, the ecm had no idea what to do and it was putting the sled in limp mode, which explains why if i shut it off it ran good for a minute.

Took it out today. Not fixed!! This time screen went blank, wouldn't start. Loss of power. Shut off runs ok for 10 seconds and acts up again. Fuel pump or ecm issues I'd guess. I have a 20k paper weight.

I brought it back to the dealer and told them give me another machine! they said they have to contact brp, they cant ride it there at the store and nearest snow is 1hr drive. They have nowhere to go with a direction on diag. No codes. Of course on the stand there it is running fine. This is not good and i have no idea what to do. I had a trip planned, that is why i bought it. What a Joke this is!!

If this was a Polaris at my dealer i have used for 30 years he would just give me another machine. The ski doo dealer has another machine exact like mine, I told them either rob parts off it or give me another machine, the ride today was 4 miles, machine has 46 miles and 30 of them are it running like crap,

I've had stator/ voltage regulator issues that have acted similar to that, but they usually throw codes like crazy.

thank goodness you have a 9r none of them have ever had issues. Maybe artic cat should acquire doo and bring quality standards within arm reach of poo poo. I do certainly regret that you have sled issues and sincerely hope you salvage your trip and season in general.

I am a auto technician for a living, my gut feeling is either a fuel pump or the ecm. Leaning towards the ecm, it will dog out and start to run on 1 cylinder at times, or just bog and lay over and die. Just like you ran out of fuel. Not a spark plug issue. And even a few times when it wanning decent it would not pull more that 7400 rpm and felt lazy. My 9r pulls way harder. Insane it is running like this and not throwing a code!! The screen wigging out also. The battery has 12.5 volts so not that either.

Got a call from the dealer just now, They are building a new machine and will have it ready tomorrow!! brp never got back to them today, they know i have riding trip planned so they decided to put me on a another sled! Talk about customer service. Wow.. He said they have no idea what is wrong at this point and it will take time to figure out the issue with brp.

Picked up the new sled today
Hopefully all is well. Might go riding this weekend for a quick little break in ride.

My 21’ turbo was a similar experience. Limp mode and backfiring like crazy day 1. Long story short the dealer failed to fix it 6 times over the course of the season and wasted my entire winter. It never ran from day one and went into limp mode every time I took it out. Wasting days off form work to go test it and see if it’s fixed. They shotgunned parts at it for months including an ECM, waste gate actuator, entire turbo assembly, coils, injectors, new harness. I finally took it to full speed in revy and paid for what should have been warranty work. 10 minutes later they diagnosed it as a fuel pump and had the sled running like a top. Glad you got rid of that thing some times you get a lemon

Having identical issues with my new 2025 exhibition 900r dealer has had it 2 weeks they still cant figure it out this is my first skidoo after 50 years of trying many of the other brands over the years. I understand theres going to be issues with some but the delays from BRP are hard for me to understand i was told from the dealer 3-5 days for a replyfrom BRP Id really like to give this sled back to the dealer. Wish me luck haha you know thats not on the table

Tell them to look up the tsb on the new flash for the waist gate actuator.
Mine was doing the same and that was the fix. They gave me a new machine but they flashed the machine i gave back and fixed it with the flash. It was bogging, dying, almost did not get back to truck.
