That little Neo+ would make a great for a lady that has NEVER ridden a sled or a youth.
And I have heard that its rather easy to get more power out of that engine as well.

Another 10-15hp would make a big difference on that sled.
I bet! Sounds like it’s simply the exhaust cutting the HP. Haven’t decided if I want to drop the $11.5k otd for it. A local dealer has one on the floor. Cool sled for sure!
Do they have brakes? My daughter missed that memo. Broke hood on her venom. She has buggered handlebars, riser, seat cover and engine. Little **** has cost me $ 2800. Hopefully she has the bugs worked out before i cut her loose with the neo. Might have to send her riding with Chadly for a day. Keeping her venom for a bud and selling the nicer one.

I think this sled makes a ton of sense for Doo and the consumer both. Price point is right, and it looks like it will be a good fit for a fairly wide range of beginners. You just can’t build a youth sled and have it be a good fit for 6yr olds, 16yr olds, and everything in between.
These are super value for being a brand new sled... but they really aren't setup for a smaller framed rider and you are now into the price territory of nice used 800 mountain sled.
Backcountry sport would be my pick

I've looked into a Backcountry Sport for the wife, but I struggle to spend that much on an underpowered 600 crossover, when I could have a very capable spare mountain sled in the garage for similar money. Like I say... still tremendous value there, but really more of a fit for a rental operation, or maybe a couple looking to get a pair of new sleds to have at the cabin or something along those lines.

I agree totally on this. The neo is great little sled for youth and small frames and you could say timid wives.
What is the word on the street? Did you guys go out with one?

So I bought one for my son. I have ridden it only a couple miles. I was surprised at how nice it felt when I was on it. this is what I see with him at the controls.
Summit Neo+
7yo 45lbs, 49” tall
Colorado based riding 8500-11000 ft.
The 200 type sleds were not cutting the mustard for him. An hour or so on the trail and he was bored. Not capable of really doing much in meadows etc.
600 Neo just a few rides. 4+ hrs into riding and stilling wanting to ride more everyday. Power is capable of meadow riding in 12” inches of snow. That’s the deepest day we have been out so far, appears to be able to handle more. Single track woods climbing hills ok as long as snow has a base for the track to grab. Made some climbs failed on others, he is still a little timid on throttle as well which plays some role. Electric start is great for kids. Easy for him to operate and use reverse. Can stand up on running boards, clear seat, and easily see over the handlebars. Easy for him to mannevor in tight situations. The sled feels fairly well balanced and I can already see him starting to understand the benefits of weight transfer/leaning which he never did on the smaller sleds. Power seems appropriate for a kid this age/ability which would be even better at lower altitude. Dash read his max speed was 47mph, not sure he ever really went that fast, but easily went 25-30 on trails and a little slower cruising meadows.. Sled is really quiet which he commented on how he liked it better than his loud tuned up kiddy sled. Engine stayed cool even at constant low speeds kicking very little snow up on tunnel.
???? Still pondering and will have a better feel with more time riding

Clutch setup. Belt has already stretched and doesn’t seem to have much/easy adjustment
Suspension, seems fairly low quality but what should we expect at this price point. Will it hold up to whooped out trails even with light weight riders
How long will it last before he wants to be on an 850 again, by himself not riding in front of me anymore…

These sled fill a huge gap in the market, here in Saskatchewan there’s a hp cap for the kids that take the training coarser it’s 60 hp , our girls started on mini Zs then moved up to rev 380s then to rev 550 and a 2010 tnt 550 they rode them 550s for years and years great economical sled that should hold a decent value.
Only thing that I don’t like is the rebranded cat 120-200 I just wish skidoo would of just brought back the mini rev and a bit bigger version with a 200 cc .

I have my new Neo + in the trailer along with a 2020 RMK EVO that I did a ton of work to. We finally get to ride this weekend so we'll how it does.
I BOUGHT IT SPECIFICALLY FOR THE TIMID WIFE SCENARIO. My wife is not timid (she rides good and hard - and well ) but my son's wife is pretty timid so I am hoping this sled fits the bill for her. She rode the EVO once last year and liked it.
Hopefully I will have a side by side ride report next week!

Picked this up today. My son rode one this weekend and loved it. Snow wasn’t great, but I hopped on it and think it will be a great little sled!
Backing it off the sled deck, nearly at the bottom it came to a screeching halt…. The giant snow flap hit the ground and got pulled under the track??
I send Chadly a pic of it after I drilled all the rivets and pulled the flap. He said I shouldn’t have done that… Needless to say, he has a point and I don’t want to play temp police with my kids, so some large head skidoo rivets will be here Friday??

Drove my daughter's neo in the trailer. Also drove my wife's 9r in trailer. Have yet to drive my lynx in the trailer. I see the neo didn't come with scratchers. Seems like a cool sled for a kid. Curious on power and whether you’ll eventually be able to bump them up.
Take it from me, put flap back on. My daughter cooked her venom. Didn't know any better. I was sitting with a hot boost and hurt leg and she kept running hers to truck. Couldn't get her stopped and i wasn't cooking a boost. Between 1 tree and motor cost me $2800.

Ya, saving the motor is worth some extra time securing the flap when loading. I’m curious to on boosting the power when needed. Some say remove the exhaust entirely.. Not sure thats the case. There isn’t much to the exhaust, some pipe and a huge can. Maybe the cans the ticket. Not the time now, but soon I’m sure.
Oh and no, mine didn’t come with scratchers either. We rode fish lake trails with the families New Years weekend and there was a neo + with us and it never really got above 130, which was impressive, No scratchers. Meanwhile our slashes were scratching for snow off the trail and even the new G5 turbo was staying pretty cool, not all the time, but way more than the matryx.
