2022?

after getting rid of most of their engineers, cat doesn't have the ability to develop anything new of any importance.....best we will likely see will be easy to put together variations of what we already have....ain't saying that's bad, i like the sled....wish list for me would be a more leak-proof intake and a primary clutch that would go 2000 miles dependably, wouldn't mind getting rid of the out-sized oil reservoir, and the trenching problem that both of mine have.....and i do wish cat would stop screwing their dealers, i need a dealer that feels like he's an asset to the company rather than an unfortunate necessity....

I doubt we see anything too wild with the whole COVID thing. I’m prepared for nothing but new go fast decals. If I’m going to wish this is what I’m after.

My big thing is the intake. Make it fit right or at least add a variation of the Defender/Protectair.

Snow flap. I should not have to put an old Nytro snow flap on my new sled. Let me get ahold of the rear bumper.

An optional lightweight electric start seat would be nice. I’m making things work from the 2014 accessories catalog to fit my 10 year old.

And if they’ve got some time/money a factory option to the elevate kit.

Only have to spend about a minute riding a stock 2012 and a stock 2021 to clearly understand they are not even close to the same sled.

You would be a damn fool buying any 2022 that is significantly different then the 21s. Don’t care what brand it is. Not the year for big changes.

AC should play it smart and only release bng and a few changes to refine handling. Bring back a twin rail option. Offer a 4 year warranty on a snow check and pricing at or below $13k.
Yeah people who own the newer ones understand that, but a lot of people who ride other brands don't get it.

The majority of consumers want something new and exciting, not refinements to the same old thing. Playing it safe doesn't sell sleds, new and exciting things sell sleds.

they need new graphics that say 900 turbo and name it something different, but dont actually change anything. It doesnt need much in reality just some things that have already been said, but people want new and exciting whether its better or not. stock for stock it doesnt give up anything to the other brands if anything is better IMHO.

After going from a 2014 to a 2021 on my trail sled it is impressive all the small little things that Cat has cleaned up/changed, but absolutely nothing that is gonna really amaze anyone. Even a 800 turbo would excite a lot of people but the first gen would be a mess, seems to take Cat a while to cleanup the fit & finish.

What strikes me on mountain sleds is how much narrower my 2020 Alpha one is than my 2015 Proclimb when sitting side by side in my shop. This is a bad angle. I will see if I have a better shot!

I feel what a lot of people want to see from the factory,is what aftermarket companies offer.i get it,why not give people what they want from factory.even if the factory put out the perfect sled,it would never be good enough.theres always something to refine or change.im glad we all have access to great aftermarket companies to give us what we want, and a lot of us "DIY ers" also have great ideas to improve/change things.i mean how boring would the forums ,sledding be,if we all the perfect sleds that came out of a crate.what works for me and what i like is totally opposite of my buddy.lets be real here, the new sleds from the crate are extremely capable and take us places we want to be along with places we shouldn't be,so are they really that bad?ive always had new sleds, and changed absolutely everything right out of the crate, and in the end I've had to up tp $30k sleds, that when comes to upgrade, you gotta beg someone to give you 6-7k,so you can start allover again changing everything to your liking/riding style/pref.

i get that they cant please everyone but cmon. people have been bitching about the running boards and bulky controls since like 2007. they finally made the controls better in 2019 but still in 2021 is the same running boards. some people dont mine them but i think the majority have complained about them, i know i hate them. its the little things, its like they arent listening at all

The running boards haven't really bothered me for as crappy as they look. I have klim snowbike boots. The sole has more grip. It was when i was stuck and couldn't figure out why. Shook the bejesus out of it. There was a cut off tree through my boards. They are so cheesy thin. Wouldn't have happened on poo or doo. Everyone ive had had hand warmer troubles. Had a lot of little problems. 10 year old chassis that was made for 2 or 4. Make a mountain specific chassis with more power if they want to be relevant. The alpha rail won't keep people alone. Yamaha and cat are so lame you can't even get the right clutching for their kid sleds yet. They will use covid as an excuse but their problems started before covid. That is why you mainly see poo and doo around here.

Sleds good . Reliable , durable .
Waiting for the factory turbo . Intake could be improved yes . But everyone complaining seems to not know how to put there hood on correctly . Never had a problem , Ride deep snow all the time . Next year ...

It can happen on Polaris too.Screenshot_20210201-205206_TikTok.jpg

Things that should come on the 2022, taller spindles, better boards, twin rail with alpha track, shorter seat, better handlebar controls w/ a better brake reservoir. They could shorten up the hood, with the blast hood.

The twin rail with the alpha track would be killer and better boards would be nice. Controls aren’t bad? My biggest complaint on the cats since 12 has been the ski pressure and turning radius.

Ski pressure isnt bad with the elevate kit, the controls arent bad, i just prefer more minimalist like the polaris
