2016 axys RMK... beginning to see some details.

I am not sure I see them going with a 14 wide in the rmk lineup. If they go narrow they might offer their version of a snow bike. 14 wide would lose what they could gain. You are not going to beat a T3 with a 14 inch track.

The majority of pros sold are 155s. Obviously Polaris riders aren't interested in "beating" a t3. Different sleds for different riding styles.

Because we all
Know nothing beats more track length in the mountains... Ha. Lmfao.

Funny that with my basic bro membership I was able to read this whole thread, has Poo bought us all a premium membership? As for the narrow track debate there is a tipping point where without a certain amount of track on the ground floatation is sacrificed. A lot depends on how that track is distributed on the ground, ie the doo 146x16 has more track on the ground compared to a 155x15 but in real world conditions the 155 will go much better in the snow, go figure...

They need something cutting edge or there will be lots of t-3 sold in my IMO. Why not a 3.4 inch track with beveled edge to 3 for sidehilling. Motor setup for elevation 8000ft and above like clutching is. Let's set some new standards it time. More room for snow evacuation in the tunnel like what a drop and roll does.

Thank god it's almost Friday!
I think this is getting pretty talked out.
I'm feeling really good about what Polaris will deliver.

Heading to west about 3:00, and cold beers by 4.
It's like Xmas eve! ?

I am thinking Poo is gonna leave some room on the table here... I think were are just gonna see an Axys/HO motor long track with a different track (really hoping its this super light track we have heard rumors about) also think with the lower center of gravity and really skinny body panels it will be a 36" front, and it comes in at the rumored 408lb...

That's it nothing too special but they need to leave some room for improvement so in a couple years just like they did with the Pro they'll have it under 400lbs with some other goodies like optional Fox Float shocks, or something along those lines.

Either way 6:00 can't come fast enough today lol were like a bunch of lil school girls before Christmas

Well not much longer and we will see. I just hope they bring something to the table for the niche market the T3 fills. Not eveyone needs a 174x3" but in some locations I am hearing it is a game changer.

If you already like the Pro now and from what I am seeing with the Axys chassis and the 800HO motor it would be really hard to change brands now with those changes a lone. I am one that actually has had decent reliability out of my 2012 800. Almost 5000 miles now.

I agree with all the posts about tethers its surprising they haven't become an industry standard on all sleds let alone mountain sleds.

Especially when cost would be under $20 for the manufacturers.

Installing my ProArmour tether today.

We tested multiple runs in 2.5 ft of pow and my doo 146 xm would beat my buddies pro 155(samerider weight) 90% of the time. my .02 for what its worth. if polaris could get there engines to work and not have to change out 65% of tps sensors I would buy one to add to the collection!

That will happen when your buddy has a 600/ 155"
Not a good comparison, try racing a 800 Pro next time. Your going to need a whole lot more then a 146"

I can't help replying to Sledheader. A 14" wide track would be a major paradigm shift but it might be a hard sell. It might work fine in the application but it will turn some potential buyers off. I would rather see a track that has the flexible edges like the Doo. Regardless of what anyone says, that concept works pretty well. I also work with engineers every day (35 years) and I highly respect them. However, they can be wrong and the math and theory doesn't always work in the application. I am reminded of a young lady engineer who told me that a mountain bike with rear suspension was not superior to one with rear suspension in climbing applications over uneven ground. She was very wrong but I couldn't convince her of that. After several years, she was riding a full suspension bike. She was stubborn and never admitted her error other than with her switch to a full suspension bike. I hope that they don't go to a 14" track and I hope they do incorporate a flexible edge track which gives you the best of both worlds.
