1.Shave a good 30 lbs off their sleds
2. come out with a new 850cc, and 950cc DI motor about 185HP, and 215HP.
3. come out with a 3"PC on either a 162" or 174" option from the factory- like DOO
4. add a 4 year warranty and better coil over shocks like the Raptors.
then they would OWN the MTN. Segment market for the next 3 years.
I've heard of an 850cc getting brought up for Poo, AC and Doo over the years. It sounds cool but doesn't make sense to me. All power sports thrive on racing in some class (a standard across the makes). Unless they keep the 800cc and have an 850cc, then how would AC compete in hill climbs, ovals, drags and other races? Beyond that, 10hp (theoretical) more than the 160hp Poo HO (theoretical), doesn't seem that impressive if the sled weighs 50lbs more. I wasn't sure of that number because AC doesn't post weights on their website. I thought only Yammi pulled that one. I also think that 800cc has become the standard for big (lightweight) snowmobiles. The AC groups knows very well that the M1000 was a torque monster but look where it ended up. Poo's cruddy 900 and Doo's RT1000 have died too. We need snappy hard hitting power, not a heavy diesel-like powertrain. Perhaps the 850cc isn't that, but what's next? A 880cc? 890cc? 910cc? Also, 800cc is already pushing the reliability threshold.
