2016 arctic cat launch @ Saturday, March 1, 2015

1.Shave a good 30 lbs off their sleds
2. come out with a new 850cc, and 950cc DI motor about 185HP, and 215HP.
3. come out with a 3"PC on either a 162" or 174" option from the factory- like DOO
4. add a 4 year warranty and better coil over shocks like the Raptors.
then they would OWN the MTN. Segment market for the next 3 years.

I've heard of an 850cc getting brought up for Poo, AC and Doo over the years. It sounds cool but doesn't make sense to me. All power sports thrive on racing in some class (a standard across the makes). Unless they keep the 800cc and have an 850cc, then how would AC compete in hill climbs, ovals, drags and other races? Beyond that, 10hp (theoretical) more than the 160hp Poo HO (theoretical), doesn't seem that impressive if the sled weighs 50lbs more. I wasn't sure of that number because AC doesn't post weights on their website. I thought only Yammi pulled that one. I also think that 800cc has become the standard for big (lightweight) snowmobiles. The AC groups knows very well that the M1000 was a torque monster but look where it ended up. Poo's cruddy 900 and Doo's RT1000 have died too. We need snappy hard hitting power, not a heavy diesel-like powertrain. Perhaps the 850cc isn't that, but what's next? A 880cc? 890cc? 910cc? Also, 800cc is already pushing the reliability threshold.

Come on they changed the drive shaft on the 15's and scr*w*d everybody that wanted to put a belt drive on and hit the first good snow. And added rail stiffeners where they didn't need to be.

Wow if I cleaned all of the change out of the couch I think I could get two new 15 Cats for the price of one of my Prolites!!!! Don't get me wrong I would rather have one good Prolite than two stock 15 Cats.

Word on the street is cat is working on their own belt drive. Hope its a retro fit for current models.

I`m not bashing on Cat, but if they don`t change, I am afraid people get tired of new graphics and new suspension changes every year.
And new band aids for sky high belt temps and blown belts..

I love my Proclimb and it is here to stay until there is nothing left. And I love the strong chassis, the Suzuki engine that can hold a lot of miles on it and it do well in the forest :)
I just hope for people sake that Cat actually listen to the customers what THEY want :)
Like said, I love cat and I am not going over to Poo. I just would love to see Cat following the marked and keep pushing forward with something new and radical! :D

I think the whole issue with cat is they needed a plat form to house way too many engines, cheap, and quickly while they phased out suzuki. I think once they get their engine program up and running full steam, cat will be in a way better position to design a better chassis.

This thread is getting out of control.

Some of you guys need to step back and read what you are posting lol

So, Ski-doo riders and Polaris riders are weekend worriers. They know nothing about sleds and just buy a sled and ride it thinking all along that they have the worlds best sled and that they are the next Burandt.
Cat riders are tough, mean and loyal. They ride green because they know that cat has always produced ridiculously fast, tough sleds. We bleed green and we love to wrench on our sleds.

That being said, all of you threatening to jump ship and so on ... be prepaired... you might crap yourself when you see what cat has coming for 2016. I hope that between now and then that it is not leaked and that you all find out at once. I myself will buy stocks in TP and baby wipes because you all will crap yourself.

Until then... let the skys be blue and the snow be deep!

Cheers!

I just got to 800 miles on my 14 and one hand warmer isn't working. That's it. No belt trouble or anything else so when people say they aren't reliable, I don't really know what they're talking about. I certainly won't have anything different until there is a new engine and chassis from Cat. Then I will buy whatever the best is but right now I'm perfectly happy with my PC.

I'm not sure if this post is sarcasm or not? Haha

Sorry, hahah not being sarcastic... lol

What cat has in store is BIG. I dont know full details, but what I know makes me excited. I'm pretty sure the XM wil have something to accompany that huge tractor of a sled too.

Polaris jumped the gun to try and get ppl on board early because they know Doo and Cat have something next level coming.

I'm sure I've taken apart and put back together more M sleds than you have. Thing is my pro needs less of the off season disassembly and fixing of issues than my M's ever did. If that makes me a weekend warrior that knows nothing about sleds I'm glad im there now. I once was as blind as you but realized until some manufactuar started paying my bills brand loyalty was just plain stupid. I truly hope cat has something special up their sleeves for 16 but new tall spindles on their modified dual purpose flatland chassis isn't gonna get me wet.

Just wanted to quote this because it is amazeballs. On a quick estimate - how many broken down cars are in your front yard? Feel free to round to the nearest dozen...

This thread is way out of hand. We have the two usual Polaris pro Bros in the cat section trying to justify their $hit purchase. Seriously, I could care less about your pro, I don't think I've ever even posted in the Polaris section lol. And the rest of you guys are pissed because they haven't dumped the most reliable 800 in the industry yet? Did you wake up and decide to drink your bath water this morning?
