If I can do it I'll add another Yami to the shop. Die Hard and I do not listen to the frowners on this site. Thanks to the boys in BC for the video, and to Chris! We'll see how this plays out:face-icon-small-hap Not many trees where I want to ride anyway!:face-icon-small-win

LOL, go ride a Viper and come back and tell us with a straight face the topheavy overweight 1100 Cat is better. Please?

IT IS THE SAME SLED.... I used caps because the brail option isn't working currently.

I wouldn't bother trying to horse either around when there are MUCH better options out there for substantially less money.

Enjoy your overwieght, top heavy Viper. It is at least 60 lbs heavier than my PRO and has 30 hp less, what a revelation, you need to run out and buy one. Better yet, spend the extra $2500 so it can barely keep up...

It would have made a lot more sense to fit the Yammi engine to a PRO chassis, then you would be closer. Instead they chose the worst mtn chassis on the market. I am still trying to figure out what you guys are all excited about? Is it that Yammi almost made a decent mtn sled again?

Ha!! Strap a heavy engine to a foil poo tunnel and let er rip!!! Polaris is junk.it was smart to use the cat chassis.I'm not sayin i want one of these but i would damn sure buy one over a crap pro!!

The Viper is a completely different snowmobile. The Yamaha engine because it is more compact, has no balance shaft assembly (3 cylinder is inherently balanced), the exhaust comes off the rear, instead of the front handles like a different sled. The 1100T also has the turbocharger, header and exhaust which comes almost to the nose of the sled (about 30lbs). The whole balance of the sled is different and is far more two stroke like than all previous 4 stroke mountain sleds.

Jim, are you boys at evo going to come up with a ecu reflash for the 15 Viper to do away with the additional fuel controller for the turbo's?

So I nailed it.... they almost made a decent mtn sled this time. It is almost as good as a 2-stroke, almost the power, almost the handling and still 40-60 lbs too heavy.

I am glad they are trying. I would love a reliable motor in a sled, just not one that makes it too heavy like current offerings.

I love how all the Ftards with pros are comparing their 2stroke sleds weight to a sled with a 4stroke motor. 2 completely different machines guys, its like comparing a gas and diesel pickup to pull your trailers out west. Of course your 94 chevy half ton extended cab with Polaris stickers all over the back window and loud exhaust may get you and your custom wrapped sled with your last name on the windshield there and back but some people like to pull with a reliable duramax or cummins diesel. It's what people like to do and last time I checked this was America and people can make their own decisions. Get over it and go back to your poo chat and try to figure out how to finally get that 800 motor over the 100 hp mark at 10,000 feet and have your motor last for more than 2000miles! :mullet:

since you have no interest & wont be riding one why dont yah take your stupidity back to where you came from.its obvious you are just flapping to make yourself justify your pro or whatever you ride.so can you tell us how many riding hours you have on the new yamaha mtn viper just so we know where all this great knowledge is coming from.:popcorn:

I am a flatlander, I have owned a nytro and changed to cat. I have never once gotten on the forum and complained about how heavy a four stroke sled is over a 2 stroke. Most people realize that in order for a chassis to support a motor that weighs substantially more than a 2 stroke there is going to be a little bit more structural reinforcement in order for the machine to hold up. Yamaha makes a solid product, they are never going to be able to compare to the lightweight pro in the weight category just because they are a FOUR STROKE! Maybe in 10 years when all the treehuggers get their way poo will need to come out with a four stroke and the tables will turn, until then Yamaha will not be able to compete with the lightweight 2 strokes. :closed_2:

LOL, yep! I created a mountain Viper as I did not want to wait. That is where my opinions and weights come from.

Everyone we have let ride the 2014 Viper (mountain conversion) and my 2014 M8 have said they ride exactly alike. As the Viper has the gas tank under the seat the sled balance feels the same. Not spouting opnions as a Google rider but from actual expeience.

So you are saying that the sled is well balanced and the weight is not noticeable? That is good to know. I am thinking one of these with a MCX 270 kit would be a hoot.

That is what I am feeling, and everybody we have let ride them. Of course everybody has thier own opinion. I am 5'8" 160lbs and I can lift the Viper skis off the ground from the front....no chance of me doing that on a Nytro...lol

Over on the "other" site a guy used race car scales and weighed. 2014 Viper was exactly 19 pounds heavier than a 2014 XF high country limited 800 Cat. In all fairness the Cat holds 1.5 more gallons of gas....lol.

Matches what I see with mine that is the 2014 M8 I have is 22 pounds lighter than my Viper.
