I got the same question kinda. but i ride the 13 m800 and i dont see how people say the spindle grabs in the deep powder. maybe i just cant feel it or something. i have a 13 doo and 13 poo as well and i dont see how the spindle grabs. could someone explain a little. i like the big spindles because it gets the upper a arm out of snow more. i dont know. just speculation

For me I have seen in heavier snow the front end really plowing and then in certain steep sidehills I feel it grabbing the hill and washing the sled out. That's my experience in our type of terrain in AK anyways...

Quick question for u yammie guys, does the bdx spindle kit work on the Yamaha viper? If I were to consider going this route(which I actually may), I want to dump the huge stock spindle. They really seem to impede deep snow performance. The bdx I think would work cause it's basically like a m8000 bulkhead without the charge pipe in the way. Thoughts?

I have yet to notice any spindle grab in the snow, but thats just my opinion. Look at the profile of the spindle and see how narrow it is. Then again we ride deep powder out here in Colorado.

discision

Looking to up grade from my 09 summit. Rode my sons 13 pro for a full day and didnt care for it. Xm was ok butdecided the dealer sucks. Going with Yammi or Cat as this dealer has aways been good to me. Question, how is the Viper going to work out as a boondocking sled? Dont want to get worn out trying to musle a round a heavy sled all day. Thanks Fred

Get 2015 Viper mountain and you won't see much boondocking difference between it and a M8. I know I have both (converted 2014 Viper to mountain) Viper engine is 20 pounds heavier but gas tank is under the seat so the balance feels the same. And they are ALL heavy when stuck...........

Viper made it up some spots last Sunday that truly impressed me, I could have never made it where we were on a Nytro.

Where both sleds 162 or 153? Wish they had the spring order in a 153, 162 is a little long for here. Thanks Fred

From what I can tell on there sight the orange and blue is the LE spring order and only comes in 162. The SE is after October and comes in 162 and 153. The plain (black) comes in 153 only. Fred

I just read it again and in the red box in the ad it states any MTX model, is confusing with the le prefix thou, guess ill just have to ask a dealer:face-icon-small-hap

see i am with this guy. it may way more. but motor to motor is only 25 pounds or so more then the 2 stroke to 4 stroke. so why cant they get the weight with in 20 pounds. and you say it is. which i believe. so im gonna snowcheck one of these beasts and walk on some pros. but the difference in weight is where it is located to me. my m8 doesnt feel heavier then my brothers pro. so i strongly believe that weight balance is what is gonna make the difference for a viper. i guess poo is coming out with a 30 pound sled. ya you havent heard its all over the place. hahaha jokes guys.

Nytro has too much weight on the skis, Proclimb chassis has more weight on the skid than I have ever seen. I am 5'8" 160 pounds and I can lift the front end of a Viper off the ground. Goat Trail is a nasty climb that you have to do some turns in the steep....and you know what happens to a Nytro when you slow uphill and try to turn.:face-icon-small-sho

Ride a 2014 M8 if you do not have any converted to mountain Vipers, feel VERY much the same.

38"+3" forward A arm kit and fuel tank towards the back. Different sled. Oh, and 15 lbs of snappy midmount boost!!! And killer running boards.

Had 2 Nytros, one cut to 551 wet and one cut to 600 wet with 280hp supercharger. Boosted Nytro 38 inch front with 2 forward and 162 track on timbersled skid. NO WAY can it float through the powder the Proclimb chassis can, sorry but that is just a fact. Try a long track Viper or 2014 or later M8.

Now in all fairness the mods you listed DO make the Nytro a MUCH better machine but it still is not in the same league as the 2014 Proclimb chassis.

Not meant to offend.

I had to Snow check one after spending some time on one. If you look close its got a few things done that just make this sled a blast to ride. Pretty sad it will be crushed when testing is done.
