2015/16 Snowy Range snow conditions

I heard that the son passed away as well...sad!

I don't think that's correct, from my understanding Jerry jr is out of the hospital. Not sure of the extent of the effects.

As an aside, the family has ridden with me a couple of different times over the years. Friends of friends that joined in our group.

Well, I certainly hope that my information is incorrect. I was at the Quealy warming hut on Sunday and that's what I was told. My apologizes if that is wrong!!!

The son was originally thought to loose both feet (doc's thought they'd have to amputate, worst they've seen as far as frostbite), but he's been recovering and amputation is no longer considered. Last I heard he was working on walking while in the hospital, though that was a few weeks ago. This was told to me by a friend of the family. I don't know anything else.

At the time of the last snowy range club meeting the son was at home recovering. Sounded like being a young 18 year old really helped facilitate a miraculous recovery from such bad frostbite. Pretty good news on that account.

Rode Fri and Sat. Sunny skies Fri and had to look hard to find any untracked in the trees. Sat cloudy and snowed good from about noon to 3:30 when we came off the mountain. Wind was blowing and visibility was tough. If it kept snowing I would imagine it would be good riding today. Sorry, didn't get any pics to post.

My group had a sled break down yesterday in colorado we are thinking about coming to the snowies for our last day to ride but Albany lodge has their snowbike rented and all their sleds are rented. just wondering if there was anywhere else we could get ahold of a snowlike to rent in the area. thanks

Snow is good old mash potato snow. Sunshine and good exploring is still a good time.

I know it's mashed potatoes out there right now, and makes for a fun time finding new areas, but any chance of snow in the next week? Just trying to decide if we should spring for one more trip, or call it a year on a high note and put them away.

2017 850 Summit X

We sat & chatted with 3 guys on top of the mountain yesterday (March 8).
I didn't notice until they left that one was on a 2017 Summit X. So disappointed that I didn't get a chance to look it over closer.
Kinda cool to actually get to see one on the snow though!
