2014 polaris

I'm going to get in trouble... but are they kinda ugly?

I think most of them are pretty sweet and the painted rails are sweet. But the ones with yellow outlining? Where did that come from? Any other color there would probably have worked better imo.. my favorite is probly the mostly black with black rails and no yellow.. dear Santa.. I will be really good this year, I promise....

I would have expected at least one change. Even a decent bumper woulda been something. I had decided I was getting a 14 already but now i'm considering keeping my 11 or finding a deal on a new 13. I can think of lots of things I would rather spend the money on than different stickers.

Anyone else's first impression of the graphics that they are similar to the 02/03 RMKs?

Make it all work?

So for the first time in a long time, Polaris is putting out new...absolutely nothing. I've actually been waiting and hoping for this. I'm hoping that this means that their engineers were busy actually getting the 800 motor to not blow up.

It seems like when manufacturers change absolutely nothing, that model year ends up being super reliable and really well tuned and they get a lot of the bugs worked out. I really hope this is the case because I love that pro chassis, but just haven't been able to bring myself to buy such an unreliable sled.

I think I said something to the effect of new graphics and powder coating for the new '14s. Where are all you guys that heard from reliable sources that a factory turbo or a new engine were in the works? I guess knowing people that actually work in Roseau means nothing, huh? And have we forgotten that the '12s were basically '11s with new graphics? Some of you need to get off of your soap boxes and realize that this year was for refinement. Want a new sled every year? switch brands. Quit complaining about and talking down sleds that are already amazing. Go buy a new YamaCat if you internet preachers want something to complain about again next year all season long here on SnoWest. I think Polaris made a smart move this year, and I'm keeping my 13. Lots of leftover '14s for when everyone gets scared of the new sleds in '15

just wait i'm sure the 14 motor will feel stronger than the 13, just like the 13 felt better than the 12 and the 12 better than the 11;) some people can make themselves believe anything...

Polaris already had three years to refine the chassis. When are they going to give us an engine worthy of the best chassis on the mountain, rather than just continue to put bandaids on an engine that's been "problematic" since '08 ??

P.S.: They nailed the chassis way back in the '11. Focus on the damn engine !!!!

Sent from my iPad when I should be sledding.

"The Pro RMK 800 is the #1 selling sled in the mountains. How can Polaris make it even better?

The 2014 Polaris Pro RMK gets an improved Quickdrive system, updated piston rings, small refinements and tighter tolerance thresholds to improve reliability.

The Quickdrive belt will be 25% stronger at hot temperatures and 40% stronger at milder heat. The specifications for each pulley will also have a higher production standard to reduce failures before and after the break in period. No tensioner and no machined pulleys.

Improvements to tolerances for the drive and jackshaft as well as torque specifications have changed to eliminate failures and premature shaft/bearing failures. A Service Bulletin was released last Friday for the 2013 Pro RMKs that will improve durability as well. The 2014 Polaris Pro RMK 600 and 800 will come with the driveshaft collar from the factory that was added to the 2013 models."

I wasn't expecting a new engine, turbo, or a new chassis. I was just expecting to hear about refinements to the sled. Maybe different pistons or something to fix the drive belt issue. But doesn't look to be that way. My prediction ski doo sales will rise polaris will stay the same or decrease.

Seems they have done something, but we probably won't hear exactly what. That was expected. An improved quickdrive was a must with all the issues they ran into, especially on the high heat/horsepower turbo sleds. The failures seem to be more related to heat than horsepower or shock load.

I was expecting the color choices and wraps. Looks like we get the choice of a better rear bumper and possibly a better front bumper too. If anyone expected big change this year, they're fools. They just introduce a new drive system into mass production a year ago and everyone expects more brand new tech. Stupid. I'm really sick of hearing how stupid people who were pissed about the quickdrive not having enough test time are already expecting something brand new this year again. Take a midol and ride your sleds. good lord
