2013: FIRST YEAR OF THE QUICKDRIVE-BELTDRIVE ... HOW DO I MAKE IT MORE RELIABLE??

I put the VanAmburg guard on mine over the summer but have no miles on it yet. So i rode 5300km without any guard. The belly pan did come in contact with the belt if you look at the inside of it but i didnt have any problems

^ I think that tells me what I need to know....I don't really like the idea of the drive contacting the pan.

Have you guys with a year or 2 of riding a QD sled added a skid plate for the QD? Or is that just "fluff" ?

I did after I found the belt rubbing the plastic below. I think this happened when I loaded the sled on my deck brapping the throttle when the sled is traveling up the ramp and bottoms out on the deck or could've happened when running the sled on my $hitty sled lift.

I usually braap the throttle and lay the skis down perfectly when loading on the deck so it was probably from running the track on the sled lift. But it could've been when reversing off of the deck???

I have the superlong ramp but the 4 inch lift makes for a slight angle.

Edit:

And running over logs? I would never doo that.

Depends on how many logs you hop to get to the Honey hole, or the other one, or if you feel like going a different way home. You know the things the Pro does well.

Stock clearance-pan is a bit weak there IMO. For all- season BC anyway. One of the first things I did. Hunk of 1/4" UHM plastic, drop it in boiling water a few times to shape, pop on with AL-AL big head rivets to pan and bulkhead.

Bullet proof.
