What Snotel is the best to get a good reading on the Horsecreek riding area

What Snotel is the best to get a good reading on the Horsecreek riding area?

I am still new to the area and wondering what snotel I should be looking at, I assume the Blind Bull Summit one but I feel like it should be more than 3 inches right now.

Blind Bull is the one to go off, Remember that the snowtel site is just to the north east of the warming hut. It sits on top of a hill where wind affects it badly. I might have a picture by it somewhere.

So if a group is coming out and wants to ride Blind Bull area what is the best place for lodging and how far from loding to the parking lot? I hear a lot about people staying in Pinedale but it seams like a haul to get out to the parking lot. Also if staying in Pinedale what area's area easily accessible to ride within a reasonable drive?

If you are dead set on just the area around blind bull, Pinedale is probably your best bet. The drive from Pinedale to the parking lot is about 30 miles. If you just want to ride the Wyoming Range you could also stay in Alpine which you can also access the Blind Bull area but its pretty far. Alpine you can ride from town (or really close) if you don't want to drive everyday. If you do stay in Alpine check out the Rockin M ranch, Rob (the owner) is an active member on the forum and seems like an outstanding guy. If you don't know the area I'm sure he would point you in the right direction. This is a link to his snow report that he posts for Alpine http://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=357288&page=2 also here is a link to the trail systems in the Wyoming range http://wyotrails.state.wy.us/pdf/southwest.pdf

Not dead set on the area but sure would like to explore the Wyoming Range. We are hitting up Togwotee first then moving on to a new location. I am not up for a 25 mile trail ride to get to BBull. We are thinking maybe a couple days in Alpine then a couple in Pinedale to ride BBull and drop down to Big Piney and check out that and LaBarge area? Advice is great so thanks for your input!!!

Sound like an awesome trip! A couple of days in Alpine and Pinedale I don't think you could go wrong with that. If you do get down to Big Piney/LaBarge area I'd love to hear about it, I've never rode down there. Have a good time!

Anyone interested in showing 5 of us around the alpine or jackson area any time sunday through wednesday? We've ridden Tog a couple times and decided we'd try that area this time. We all ride capable sleds and have plenty of experience. We would be willing to buy supper and a few drinks or something like that. PM me or call/text 605-252-0840 if you are interested. It would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Tyler
