2011 Super Duty

No problem with the 331's (I ordered them in mine) they have changed the tranny so much that the take off is actually better than with my 6.4 that i replaced. I have pulled some pretty heavy loads with this configuration and it makes the 6.4 look sick. Unless you are pulling monster loads all the time I see no reason for anything different. I believe the 20" tires force you to a 355 tho.

They sure look good with one of my snow decks in them !!!

Reading on the Powerstroke forums, the 6.4 has been a very reliabe truck. They had some intercoler issues and people complaining about mileage (like all the big 3). You throw a Spartan tune and DPF delete and you will have a truck that has been reporting 16-19 mpg empty. As for the 6.7, sounds like Ford raised the bar and they needed it, bad. Have been hearing some really positive thoughts on this motor but as always time will tell.

agreed about the spartan. I had an 08 crew FX4 and went from pulling my 21 ft Vnose and getting 9mpg to 11-12mpg. Not to mention the power was like none other....I could make around 45 pounds of boost with the spartan 275 tune

got some miles on it now and it shifts better but still rough compared to the Allison, can be really annoying when it shifts all the way to first gear when going around corners

fuel mileage on hwy trips still only 12 mpg:face-icon-small-sho, in fact it gets 12 mpg city or hwy, but it was ordered as a work truck so it has 4.11 gears

still doesn't pass very well, falls on its face above 70 mph, could be blamed on the gears but should be able to pass slowpokes

on a side note, we have a 2004 6.0 and just spent 3000.00 replacing the turbo and inter cooler:face-icon-small-sho

Picked up a 2011 F350 Reg cab dually flatbed 6.7 for work this week, got a couple hundred miles on it.

The good:very quiet, best driving ford I have ever driven, nice ride for a 1 ton dually, nice seats for a work truck, good radio for a work truck

The bad: shifts all the time, up down, up down, every curve and small hill, and when it shift down to 1st going around a corner its very slow to up shift, engine is really revving before it decides to shift, very hard shifts, wont be fun on icy roads, if it has 400 HP and 800 ft lbs I am not impressed, trying to pass a pick up pulling a boat, had to fall back in line, I hope it loosens up with miles:yell: interior reminds me of a 1987 Freighter

well hopefully your mileage will get better. All of the people that i know that have the new 6.7Ls all have 3.31 and 3.55 gears and they are claiming 16-19mpg highway.

Sorry to hear about your turbo and intercooler cost. I would have gotten a few prices on both items as thats really expensive. I can swap a turbo on a 6.0L in about 45 minutes and you can pick up turbos for $500 at max if you look around. Also the intercooler is a 2hr job at worse and once again a $300 item. The 6.0L is a pretty easy diesel to work on.

my 08 6.4l as been tuned for 2 1/2 years now, 2 of them being spartan 250hp. 1 issue to date a "cracked up pipe", and that's a pretty common issue anyways. wouldn't drive it without being tuned, 19-20mpg is not to bad for being lifted on 37''s. haven't got many miles my new kem 345hp tune yet, but it is sweet. thought about a 2011, seen the price tag:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-sho, on thanks. i'll blow black smoke around for another couple years in the old 6.4

I cracked my up pipe on my 08 as well with my spartan. Thats amazing fuel economy. I got 19mpg once when I drove 100% highway at like 65mph...stock no lift. I loved my 6.4L, that truck hauled with the spartan. I heard that the 310 tune got better fuel mileage then the 250 or the 275 tune.

You are a darn fine sellsman! That thread right there is enough to know Ford is serious about their new engines, and they are going to stand behind them. Plus as far as anyone knows, that is the first 6.7 to have failed.
Too bad my 6.4 has been the best truck I have owned so far, makes getting a 6.7 bittersweet.....
Thanks for passing that little link along. And here I thought you were a Dodge guy!

same here, highway miles and a light foot. i'm also running 4.30 gears, sure helps getting those 37''s rolling.

The competition is good! its makes all three up the game. I'll drive whatever I think is the best deal, most reliable and since i do all my own repairs, simple to work on....and yea that for me has been dodge! latest one '10 mega 3500 srw laramie

That looks familiar - saw these on thedieselstop.com

Picked my 2011 F350 Powerstroke up a couple weeks ago and just got home from a 2000 mile roadtrip. Couldn't be happier with the truck. Everything works great and the attention to detail is top notch.

Freeway driving is so quiet and effortless, acceleration to pass is phenomenal. You need to be careful around town because too much accelerator and you can spin the wheels almost before you know what's going on.

Need to get my B&W ball in and hook up the stock trailer for a real test. I think it's broken in enough now to see what it's really made of.

I had an 08 6.4 That was a great driving truck and the fit and finish was outstanding. I gave up on owning it after multiple complaints on my behalf to the Ford dealer for fuel mileage issues, to no response. Empty it was getting 10-12mpg and towing I was getting 6.5mpg, so it really made NO sense for me to have a diesel any more with Diesel costing the same price as 92 octane fuel ($3.20 92 vs $3.24 Diesel todays price). I know the Spartan product was out there and unfortunately in Nevada the NHP is trained and handing out fines for DPF deletions, so it wasn't worth keeping it. I moved down to a 2010 Harley Edition F150 and put a 6 inch lift on it and to my surprise empty I am getting 17-18 in town and 11 to 13 towing my 3 place enclosed. I will confess though, I do miss the power of Diesel (owned diesel from 1995 to 2010 so I do miss them) climbing the pass and towing in the wind, but my wallet is not feeling as empty as it was.

Like the reports you all are giving on the 2011 Ford SD. Heck if I can save some money driving this F150 for awhile, maybe I can own a new Ford SD down the road I do hear very good details on the mileage and Ford really does need to come out with the Harley Edition for the SD line again.

I am getting around 17mpg with only 2000 miles on the ticker. That's about an average of 75-80 on the highway plus quite a few days of drving around LA.

I was hoping for more like 18-20 but should have known better. There are some claims of this mileage around, and keeping your foot out definitely helps.

I think the Harley edition is done - too ugly I guess :wof:
