I just bought a 2010 800 rmk dragon, I have read alot on this site about the 08-09 800's having many problems. is the 2010 engine the same or did they fix the problems. The sled I bought has the "fix" from mountian tech. will this make a difference??

I also have a 2010 and havent had any problem with it. Runs great completely stock except for a slp can. From what i was told when i purchased it that it is alittle different motor than the 08-09.

The fix is supposed to make a huge difference in reliability. 2 week wait for the next batch of kits to come in, I have my name on one also. They have more than 100 kits out there, talked to Corbett at PMS when I ordered mine.

Tried running mine today, all stock less than 200 miles on it. Started first pull on the trailer, idled for about 10 secs then died, and the day was over. Guessing voltage regulator? Headlights nor gauges tried to fire..
What a waste, foot of fresh pow on the bottom at unload..

Gary, In my opinion the sleds are good with a few issues, the 800 cfi motors on the other hand have been pretty trouble some so far but The major defect with the piston to cylinder wall clearance looks like it has already been resolved with the fix it kit from mntek or pms.

The only other thing I would tell you to consider is the PCV to help with any lean spots that you may have, and then there is a updated VR too. Otherwise I would say you probably now have a pretty reliable sled but time will tell for sure since the kit is about 1 year old to date but what a change it has made for my sled. Enjoy your machine and carry a spare updated VR!

I'd never ride a cat or a doo. This chassis rocks for sure. Then most likely you wont have any motor problems as long as your are proactive about maintainence ECt.
