2010 cat 800 completely puzzled someone please help.

I have similar vibrations that come and go. I think it is ice buildup on the inside of the tunnel. The track rubs and strings start to show on the edges of the track. Once and a while I heard a loud clunk sound, large pieces of ice form in front of the rear cooler and break loose and the track spins them into the bulkhead. The tunnel also builds up on the sides, this is why the strings start to show and the vibration every once in a while. 1000 miles and counting 2010 m8 153

It's Not a track noise or vibration from ice. The problem hasn't been resolved. I just got back from BC, but I just took the dealers sled. He wanted me to take mine as well, but I would have had to take our 4 place trailer instead of the two place and haul it for 17 hours to find out it does the same thing. I wouldn't have had time to ride it anyway. We were riding with the Krazy Canadian and the boys from the Boondockers movies. I couldn't hold that group up. I'm starting to phone cat customer service. But I Just get put on hold.

I've chimed in once before on your sled but have since had a simular situation. I know you had your DD apart, but did all bearings get checked? My 6203 went at 700 miles, but when it went just the cage came apart and it was a noticable grinding rumble from the clutch side, most noticable when not in deep snow. I have since tried two different bearings, and each "sounds" different. It did not happen to mine but the cage parts can do damage. Also when just popping the cover everything looked fine, the back bearing seal appeared ok and all the cages pieces were down behind the planatary. It was not until I pulled the bearing that the damage was evident.
Your dealer would have caught that but for the others out there.....

Wow, can't you lemon law that bad boy? Can you try going straight to Cat? They should crush it and give you a new one...

I finally got a hold of cat today. They are out of ideas as well. They said to tighten limiter straps again. Yadda yadda yadda I've been down this rode already. It's NOT track noise i told them. They said they've never had a problem like this and don't know what to say. They assured me they won't leave me hanging though.

They want me to take off the 2.25 pclaw and try a smaller lugged 141 track. I said the track has been on since new and it didn't have the symptoms even once for 460 miles. Plus we are out of snow here at home. You have to drive 11 hrs to hit snow. I asked them to pitch some money for gas because I want to get it resolved asap. I don't want to be dealing with it next season. I've had to deal with it since the end of January already. When We went filming with Dan Gardiner, Dan Davidoff and the Boondockers Crew I didn't even get to ride my own sled! So we'll see what they say.
