2010 Boondocker Kit

I got my kit last week. PG M8 kit. No EBC though. Just a note saying "DO NOT RUN THIS KIT WITHOUT THE EBC". So basically just a bunch of worthless parts at this point. Thanks BD. LOL....

A lot of people are in your boat but at least they are getting the kits out you can do the install and get all the hard stuff done. I have talked with several people about when we will see theses things and they are very confident it will be soon. they are doing the final programing on the boxes and i believe that it will be worth the wait. So just hold on a bit longer before the bashing starts.

I should know better then to post here….but, this needs to be said:o

Boondockers needs to inform the customer of how they operate…..yes, this is very good business sence and the exact way I would run a business…but, the customer needs to know the real deal

I’m guessing Boondockers waits until almost all the orders are in to purchase materials needed to make this kits, im also guessing this is a way to save cost and buy in bulk…..but, I know a few people who waited a very long time last year to receive a turbo kit and/or other parts....its clear why folks would get pissed

Yes other turbo kit sellers stock most stuff on a shelf….and this is no way to run a business that aims to maximize profits.

Once again, not bashing, just looking out for my fellow riders who spend a ton of money on these after market companies:beer;

Seriously?

My paid in full kit (2+ months ago) is still useless parts and its thanksgiving week! What do you expect for your money?

I would have more confidence if the ship date had not been "this week" for the last month. I am sure it will show up, but honestly the repeated delays concern me. If it they are still working on programing I wonder if the product is actually ready. I will prob run a manual boost controller this year and let everyone else "beta test".

So why can't you use your sled without the EBC ??

There would be no boost reference for the BD box. The box wouldn't add fuel and the sled will burn down. You can install a pressure transducer and wiring harness and run the sled with that if you need to run it before they ship the EDC. If you call Boondocker or your dealer they should work with you on getting you one if you need to ride before the EBC get to you. I was told last week that the EBC's were in house and they were finalizing the final version of the program and waiting on the owner to formally release the box.

Boondockers making paying customers unhappy , no way. Must be someone bashing . I think just opening up the hood to turn the knob is not that big of a deal.

Sorry you guys are getting the run around , i hear it is snowing in Idaho.

it would be nice for the guys waiting if someone from BD like SafetyBob or..... gave some sort of update on the status of their products. someone must know when the products and kits are going to go out to the customers.

I hear the M1000 guys haven't got their kits yet and by what you guys are sayin no one has the EBC's even though you need it for some of the kits. Some of the people waiting must be getting pretty stressed by now.

has anyone contacted BD to see what they have to say about the wait ?

turbo

I'm glad they sent what they good. I've got everything installed, going start on the clutching.

Wondering what you guys are doing with original outlet hole for pipe?

Thanks

I talked to BD today.

"We are finializing the testing and waiting for a release. The hardware is all done and ready to ship". Same thing I heard 3 weeks ago. I applaud them working to get it right, but we are well past a reasonable delivery date for a snowmobile turbo IMO. I hope its worth the wait!

EDIT: I guess BD has decided to step up and get us running in the interm. I appreciate it! My dealer, Justin from Code Red Performance (SnowJW) was all over helping me out as soon as he read this post. He is a stand up guy and has been great to work with and I have no doubt he would get me up and running....

I called to order a manual boost controller and parts so I could at least run the sled and it was almost $400! No discounts, no offer to ship the parts and take them back when the EBC ships. ZERO sympathy, ZERO apoligies, and ZERO comittment on when the EBC would ship. And to think I went with BD thinking they are the big brand and would be more reliable to deal with.

thats not cool. customer service is huge and I hope BD steps up with something for the guys that paid months ago and are now stuck waiting.

Big Hoe - If you have the bd box, can't you just program the fuel curve through the bd box (like the previous turbo kits)?

Also, I thought you could add the EBC to past kits to upgrade, which doesn't make sense that you need the EBC to necessarily run the new kits. I have a 2009 bd turbo that runs on the bd box and was planning on adding the EBC to my setup. What's the difference between the 2009 and 2010 kits that you need the EBC to run the new setup but not the old setups?

I know people will jump in and chastize me, but I think at this point BD is failing to deliver on thier promises. This may be the last boondocker product I buy......

I agree. Hopefully they get it figured out.

The new EBC contains a pressure transducer, without it, it won't work. You can upgrade an old kit with it because it replaces all the old boost controller parts. I don't have much experience with the pre ADA boxes but I'm guessing that they programed the map without a pressure transducer sending a boost signal to the box, or the box itself contained one. If you were to just run a pressure transducer and an ADA wiring harness you would have a set 6 lbs or so. You could make adjustments with the wastegate to lower the boost if you needed to, but what a PITA when you've shelled out a small fortune already for a turbo.

Thanks for the clarification

If you have just received your new Boondocker turbo kit and have it installed, and are waiting for the new EBC, and absolutely can not wait contact Boondockers, we will get you up and running with a pressure transducer. If you do not than please wait for the EBC, Jared says “It is way cool.” Thanks for your patience, the BD crew. :)

i really hope things hurry up for my m1000 kit, i have been riding for a month now and the snow is unbelievable, i have purchased 5 kits from bd in the past 2 years and have had everyone of them installed way before i start riding but this year is a little bit later than i hoped, all i can say is that after waiting this long if my turbo kit is not tuned properly and has issues i probobaly will switch turbo brands as i can buy direct from another reputable builder aswell.

again, just call them and they will loan you the pressure transducer until the boost controller is released. I talked to them today, and they said another week for the boost controllers. I wouldn't hold my breath though

Just wondering....would you want a ebc that was not ready to be released when the snow was not that great only to have your ride burned down when the snow was GREAT. ..or...would you want to wait a little longer to HOPEFULLY have a reliable product??? Sounds good but I still want it NOW:mad::mad: Called BD today to complain about no ebc box only to have them say IF I need to ride and I have my turbo installed they will get me going....NAH...I will wait....just hope its worth the wait. Plus I pulled the trigger on some new lower boost control gadget for running below 4000' for a PG turbo. Anyone know anything more about this...G

Boondockers is releasing an adjustable boost actuator, you can run very low boost to high boost, the adjustable boost actuator enables you to match the spring tension to the boost you are running, in combination with the EBC your result will be better boost ramp up/ faster throttle response. For more information contact Boondockers. :) Thanks D

Looks like boondocker is stepping up somewhat to get those of you with pump gas kits on the snow if need be. Has anybody recieved a race gas kit yet? My kit was paid in full back in october when I picked up my 2010 m8 162 snopro. Have trip booked to revy for dec.9 and am starting to get worried. Will not be impressed to have all that money tied up in a new hillclimber and have to take my back up sled for first trip in DEC ?!
