One day i was riding my 2010 Assault 800 down the trail to get to the woods where i always boondock but there was not that much snow on the trail and no where to burn down the temp got up to 240 would this of caused any motor problems.

i must say...you should never...ever keep riding if the temp gets 200 and over...what temp does the temp light come on at? if it wasnt on at 240 polaris should fix that

if you haven't noticed anything weird while running it, you wouldn't be able to tell with out taking a peak!

Scratchers are a must!!! I have seen 190 on my 2010 Assault without any issues...but it was only there briefly and then the scratchers went down. I normally put them scratchers down while trail riding, no matter how cool my sled is running. Cheap insurance!

Holy Wow!! 240 is way hot...
Normally I can tell when I get to145ish on the trail(without the temp gauge on the screeen)due to either the smell of slides/hyfaxes burning up or simply the restriction that hot hyfaxes have on the sled when letting off the throttle. Its almost like the parking brake is on. Scratchers go down immediately. Scratchers are not a "want", they are "needed" for lubrication and cooling.
