This season is looking to be getting off to a good start so far !

A few new things for this year include a new and designated parking lot for the Westridge Area as the other one did not work with BC Hydro, a BCA Beacon Training Park will be installed in the Clemina Creek Cabin and each Toll Booth will be outfitted with a BCA Beacon Checker. Just more reminders to play safe out there and head out prepared. A good saying for this year is to "Ride today to ride tomorrow"

See you on the snow !

Excellent news there Curtis,I am real glad to hear about the BCA Training Park.Having used the one in Golden last season and seeing the amount of people training there on their own thought we should see more of these facilities.
The BCA Beacon checker is also an excellent idea, not only too see if people are wearing their beacon but to make sure people have it turned on,I have forgotten to turn mine on more than once.
Well its real good to hear conditions are looking up and please keep us all informed.(post pics)
How did your membership drive go and are there deals still too be had?
I will be coming up there this season and hope to actually meet you.

Cheers,
Dave

Good to hear that the snow is already coming down and that the Westridge parking lot will be improved. We had a real challenge last year trying to get up there, ended up sliding backwards down the hill with the enclosed. Good thing there were alot of us there to push the trailer out of the ditch!!!

:face-icon-small-blu yeah, that little hill was a dooosy

The new lot is located on the right in the recently logged area before you need to head up that hill and we will be using the hydro ROW as our rec trail to get off of the plowed portion of the road

You read my mind on the BCA training area.... I had just put up a post a while back saying how I wish we had one in the Valemount area. Thanks guys!!!! :)

It's been several weeks now, but with all this warm weather I am scared to ask if there is any snow left up there!

So what's the good word, Curtis?

The weather this fall has not been what I was hoping for... :(

Looks to be cooling off by weekend tho. And hopefully some precipitation will fall....

the snow up top must be getting deeper with all the precip, but the snowline has not come down the mountain much. IMO we are at least two weeks behind. Ill be heading up somewhere on a quad after the PG Snow Show and will come back with a measurement and pics

below is a shot from today:tongue:

dont forget to check www.valemountrecdevelopment.com for further updates and membership information. Over 22 busineses now offer incentives to VARDA members; its only 20bucks and includes your provincial membership

Coming on the 26th to 28th of Nov. with a group of 6 or 8. Come on snow gods...let's see some serious snowfall. Was good last Nov. Hopin' for another good early ride. Gettin' the shakes! Thanks for the updates.

It's Novemburrrrrr now... counting the days. The snowline seems to have crept a bit lower the last few days.

I am hoping the reason there hasn't been any updates is that all you locals are out sledding allready. Iam doubting it by the looks of the web cam....someone share some good news....I'll be ther on the 26th. Hopefully not leaving any a arms behind. ;)
cheers

we move the webcam to face south in the winter, so you guys can see whats going on down there. Still needs some adjusting...

Well the first snow of the season in the valley bottom is falling as well, very wet sleet/snow/rain mix and its socked in like a bugger. Gonna be pounding the alpine today and hopefully for the next week as we NEED it badly.

SEVEN DIE HARDS were eating breaky at the Great Escape this morning. Said they were heading up Clemina.......hopefully they throw up a report.

On my way to merrit this afternoon. If I see anything to get excited about at the parking lot level, I will update

There are some pictures of my tree removal venture up Allan from Monday at www.valemountrecdevelopment.com

There has constantly been snow in the forecast for the last couple weeks, but I sure haven't been seeing much snow, either in the "currently" part on the weather network, or on the webcam for that matter.
Curtis is always really good about keeping us up to date, so that usually means they just aren't ready yet. :(
But all it takes this time of year is one good dump so let's be patient and keep our fingers crossed..... :)
