2010/2011 Sicamous (Eagle Valley) Conditions

Cat Fishing

Hey Sherm
When you say cat fishing you wouldn't perhaps be talking about sinking an M8 would you? Cuz if you were I'd love to see some pictures of this.
Hopefully I'll see you guys out there soon. Wives don't seem to understand that sledding makes the world go round (well my world anyways). Later. Chris.

sledhead84, I'd never rat out a sled buddy but if you check out our website it might give you the info you need! Sherm

Queest Nov. 28th

Just got back from riding Queest. We had a late start so spent most of the time riding the powder around the towers:face-icon-small-hap. Not much of a base but lots of snow - lots of other folks were up towards North Queest. We parked at 2.5k and had enough snow - some guys went up to 6.5. Saw Sherminator and the local Prez up there, they helped one Cat get out of a hole but didn't have to go Cat fishing (see above):face-icon-small-win - thanks guys!

If you are looking for a season's pass for the Sicamous area, remeber the early bird special comes off Dec. 15th. Check out http://www.sledsicamous.com

sicamous,I wish it had only been the Cat we got out that day, El Presidante bagged me once we got back of the Meadows! Like sicamous mentioned, not a ton of snow but enough to go for a ride and test out the sled. I'd say the deepest we found up on the north end was 4-5' but that was it. A word of caution if you venture down to the Meadows area, you won't make it back up "the hill" due to the lack of snow so you'll have to take the old mining road out. It too has a couple of challegnes on the way, mostly big holes Bruce left behind! We didn't/couldn't make it to the Golf Course, again, lack of snow has to many trees sticking out all over and although we made a valeant effort, we were only rewarded with a hour's worth of shovelling to get ourselves out. We had a blast though, no reason not to get out! Sherm

We have a trip planned from jan 10-15 in sicamous and revy, what type of riding have you had around this time in the past? I was just curious becuase this will be my first time to sicamous/revy sleddin. Any info helps. Thanks

It'll be deep, like another poster said La nina year so hope this year is epic!!
Jan is usually coldish so dress for it, tends to be more socked in too, Feb to end of season tends to have more bluebird (sunny) days.
Jan will get the huge deeeeeep dumps tho so bring a snorkle hahaha
I'm out there Dec 17 to 20, I usually get out that way 3 times/year Coq and the north Shuswaps the rest.
Sicamous is my fav tho, some day I'll live closer again.
Cheers :beer;

Blue Lake

Spent today (Saturday) up at Blue Lake. We parked around 2k(nobody above us) but you can prark at the 1.5k lot or the bottom without much problem. Severe clear day with lots of powder that we tried to mark up as much as possible:face-icon-small-win. The snow is set up much better then last weekend but the trail is getting very rough. I hear that limited grooming may start soon:face-icon-small-hap. Keep an eye out for obstalcles lurking beneath the depths - the season is still early!

Grooming Blue Lake

Hey folks, just a note to let you know that grooming has started at Blue Lake. We have had lots of precip in the valley over the last 2 days with more to come so there should be lots of fresh up high.

Just a reminder that if you are interested in a season pass for the Eagle Valley Snowmobile Club (covers Owlhead, Queest, Blue Lake and Eagle Pass), the early bird pricing ends on Dec. 15th, see all the info at http://www.sledsicamous.com.

One of our crew was up at Blue Lk yesterday and said the snow was unreal! Another 1 to 2' of fresh with more on the way..........Sherm
